Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between career competence and work engagement among workers in the Greater Jakarta area. Career competence encompasses an individual's ability to plan, develop, and manage a career path through reflective, communicative, and behavioral aspects, while work engagement refers to a positive state characterized by enthusiasm, dedication, and appreciation in carrying out tasks. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research sample consisted of 201 respondents obtained through purposive sampling, with the Career Competencies Questionnaire (CCQ) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) as data collection instruments. The analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between career competence and work engagement among workers in Greater Jakarta (r = 0.780; p < 0.05). This finding indicates that the higher a worker's career competence, the greater their work engagement. This study provides theoretical contributions to the development of Industrial and Organizational Psychology and practical suggestions for companies in designing career development programs to increase employee work engagement. Keywords: career competence, work engagement, workers. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kompetensi karir dengan keterlibatan kerja pada pekerja di wilayah Jabodetabek. Kompetensi karir mencakup kemampuan individu dalam merencanakan, mengembangkan, serta mengelola jalur karier melalui aspek reflektif, komunikatif, dan perilaku, sedangkan keterlibatan kerja mengacu pada kondisi positif yang ditandai dengan semangat, dedikasi, dan penghayatan dalam melaksanakan tugas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 201 responden yang diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling, dengan instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner Career Competencies Questionnaire (CCQ) dan Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES). Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kompetensi karir dan keterlibatan kerja pada pekerja di Jabodetabek (r = 0,780; p < 0,05). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi kompetensi karir yang dimiliki pekerja, semakin besar pula keterlibatan mereka dalam pekerjaan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis bagi pengembangan ilmu Psikologi Industri dan Organisasi, serta saran praktis bagi perusahaan dalam merancang program pengembangan karir guna meningkatkan keterlibatan kerja karyawan.
