Abstract
Citra diri merupakan gambaran seseorang tentang dirinya sendiri serta bagaimana memandang penilaian orang lain terhadap dirinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis penerimaan atau pemaknaan followers mengenai pembentukan citra diri content creator Shadira Firdausi melalui akun TikTok @shaturday. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori resepsi milik Stuart Hall yang menekankan pada cara khalayak memaknai pesan melalui proses encoding dan decoding, dengan tiga posisi penerimaan yaitu hegemonik dominan, negosiasi, dan oposisi. Peneliti juga merujuk pada konsep pembentukan citra diri menurut Mappiare, yaitu: keadaan fisik, nama atau panggilan, pakaian dan perhiasan, pergaulan dan perkembangan sosial, keadaan keluarga, kemampuan dan pengetahuan, serta sikap. Paradigma penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivisme dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan sepuluh informan pengikut akun TikTok @shaturday, serta data sekunder diperoleh melalui observasi dan tinjauan literatur. Teknik keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas informan berada dalam posisi hegemonik dominan yaitu menerima citra diri Shadira Firdausi secara utuh sebagaimana yang ditampilkan. Sebagian informan berada pada posisi negosiasi karena menyesuaikan konten dengan pengalaman mereka, dan satu informan menunjukkan posisi oposisi karena merasa konten tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan pribadinya. Self-image is an individual's perception of oneself and how they believe others view them. This study aims to identify and analyze followers’ reception and interpretation of the self-image construction of content creator Shadira Firdausi through her TikTok account @shaturday. This research uses Stuart Hall’s reception theory, which emphasizes how audiences interpret messages through the processes of encoding and decoding, categorized into three positions of interpretation: dominant-hegemonic, negotiated, and oppositional. The study also refers to Mappiare’s concept of self-image formation, which includes physical condition, name or labeling, clothing and accessories, social interaction and development, family background, abilities and knowledge, and attitudes. This study adopts a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with ten followers of the TikTok account @shaturday, supported by secondary data obtained from observations and literature reviews. Data validity was ensured using source triangulation. The findings show that most informants occupy the dominant-hegemonic position, fully accepting the self-image of Shadira Firdausi as presented. Several informants fall into the negotiated position, interpreting the content based on their personal experiences, while one informant represents the oppositional position, perceiving the content as misaligned with their individual needs.
