Abstract
This research aims to determine the relationship between problem focused coping and self-regulated learning in psychology faculty students at Mercubuana University, Jakarta. This research used a quantitative method with a correlation model, the sample was obtained using accidental sampling technique and there were 172 students as participants. Problem focused coping was measured using the Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced (COPE Scale) by Charles Carver, Scheier and Weintraub (1989). Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) was developed by Zimmerman (1989) and then adapted and modified by Woltres (2003). The analysis technique uses Spearman correlation. Obtained results with Sig value. (p) = 0.002 and r = 0.229. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between problem focused coping and self-regulated learning in psychology faculty students at Mercu Buana University in a positive direction, meaning the higher the problem focused coping, the lower the self-regulated learning. On the other hand, the lower the selfregulated learning, the higher the problem focused coping among psychology faculty students at Mercu Buana University. Keyword : coping, problem focused coping, self-regulated learning Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan problem focused coping dengan self-regulated learning pada mahasiswa fakultas psikologi universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan model korelasi, sampel diperoleh menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dan mendapat partisipan sebanyak 172 mahasiswa. Problem focused coping diukur dengan menggunakan Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced (COPE Scale) oleh Charles Carver, Scheier dan Weintraub (1989). Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) yang dikembangkan oleh Zimmerman (1989) dan kemudian diadaptasi dan dimodifikasi oleh Woltres (2003). Teknik Analisa menggunakan korelasi spearman. Diperoleh hasil dengan nilai Sig. (p) = 0,002 dan r = 0,229. Kesimpulan, ada hubungan signifikan antara problem focused coping dengan self-regulated learning pada mahasiswa fakultas psikologi Universitas Mercu Buana dengan arah positif yang berarti semakin tinggi problem focsed coping maka semakin rendah self-regulated learning. Sebaliknya semakin rendah self-regulated learning maka semakin tinggi problem focused coping pada mahasiswa fakultas psikologi Universitas Mercu Buana.
