Abstract
During adolescence, individuals often face various changes and problems in their lives, one of which is frustration. This frustration can trigger anger, which is often referred to as aggressive behavior. As a result of this frustration, adolescents may develop low abilities in recognizing, understanding, and experiencing emotions, as well as in tolerating and forming friendships with others. Therefore, the factor of emotion regulation is crucial for adolescents. When adolescents pay attention to and evaluate emotional cues in a certain way, it affects their emotional development over time. Since emotions are continuously evolving, emotion regulation strategies can be differentiated based on the timing of their application, specifically when they are most effective in influencing the process of emotion formation. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between alexithymia and emotion regulation with aggressiveness in adolescents in DKI Jakarta. This correlational quantitative study uses a nonprobability sampling technique with the accidental sampling method and involves 311 adolescent respondents in DKI Jakarta. The measurement tools used are the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ-29) by Buss & Perry (1992), the Toronto Alexithymia Scale 20 (TAS-20) by Taylor et al. (1993), and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) by Gross & John (2003), which have been adapted. The research data were analyzed using Spearman's rho correlation test with the help of SPSS 22. The results of the study demonstrate that alexithymia and emotion regulation together are related to aggressiveness in adolescents in DKI Jakarta. Additionally, in a partial analysis, alexithymia is related to aggressiveness, and emotion regulation is related to aggressiveness. Keywords: Aggressiveness, Alexithymia, Emotion Regulation, Adolescents Pada masa remaja, individu sering menghadapi berbagai perubahan serta masalah dalam hidupnya salah satunya adalah frustasi. Frustrasi ini dapat memicu kemarahan dan kemarahan yang sering disebut perilaku agresif. Akibat adanya frustasi tersebut, remaja menjadi memiliki kemampuan yang rendah dalam mengenali, memahami, dan merasakan emosi, serta dalam mentoleransi dan menjalin hubungan pertemanan dengan orang lain. Maka dengan demikian, faktor regulasi emosi sangat dibutuhkan pada remaja. Ketika remaja memperhatikan dan menilai tanda-tanda emosional dengan cara tertentu, hal ini memengaruhi perkembangan emosi mereka dari waktu ke waktu. Karena emosi terus berkembang, strategi pengaturan emosi dapat dibedakan berdasarkan waktu penerapannya, yaitu kapan strategi tersebut paling efektif dalam memengaruhi proses pembentukan emosi. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengkaji hubungan alexithymia dan regulasi emosi dengan agresivitas pada remaja di DKI Jakarta. Penelitian kuantitatif korelasional ini menggunakan teknik sampling non-probability sampling dengan metode accidental sampling dan melibatkan 311 responden remaja di DKI Jakarta. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ-29) oleh (Buss & Perry, 1992)., _Toronto Alexithymia Scale 20 (TAS-20) oleh (Taylor et al., 1993) dan emotion regulation questionnaire (ERQ) oleh (Gross & John, 2003) yang telah diadaptasi. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi spearman' rho dengan bantuan SPSS 22. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa alexithymia dan regulasi emosi secara bersama-sama berhubungan dengan agresivitas pada remaja di DKI Jakarta. Serta secara parsial, alexithymia berhubungan dengan agresivitas dan regulasi emosi berhubungan dengan agresivitas. Kata Kunci : Agresivitas, Alexithymia, Regulasi Emosi, Remaja
