Abstract
Quality education is an absolute necessity which is the main focus for developing the potential of students, especially for those who have special needs such as the deaf. In maximizing the development of students' potential, one quality education system can be achieved through the concept of Montessori school education. The learning environment in Montessori schools has an education system that implements an individualized approach in developing students' natural skills, where education in Montessori schools implements the teachings of sensory use and the development of effective independent skills to support and facilitate the learning of deaf students. Designing an interior design concept that is sensitive to the needs of deaf people is something that really needs to be considered. It is hoped that interior design can create an inclusive learning environment to have a positive effect on learning motivation, social interaction, and the development of deaf students' personal potential by applying the teachings of Deaf Space design. This design aims to find out the elements in a Montessori school using qualitative design methods. The data collection techniques used are literature studies, interviews and observations by collecting field data. Pendidikan yang berkualitas ialah suatu keperluan mutlak yang menjadi fokus pokok untuk pengembangan potensi peserta didik, khususnya untuk mereka yang mempunyai keperluan khusus layaknya tunarungu. Dalam memaksimalkan pengembangan potensi peserta didik, salah satu sistem pendidikan yang berkualitas bisa ditempuh melalui konsep pendidikan sekolah montessori. Adapun lingkungan pembelajaran di sekolah montessori mempunyai sistem pendidikan yang mengimplementasikan pendekatan secara individualisasi dalam mengembangkan keterampilan alamiah peserta didik, di mana pendidikan di sekolah montessori mengimplementasikan ajaran Pemakaian sensoris dan pengembangan keterampilan mandiri yang efektif guna mendukung dan memfasilitasi pembelajaran peserta didik tuli. Merancang suatu konsep desain interior yang sensitif terhadap keperluan tuli ialah hal yang amat perlu diamati. Desain interior diharapkan bisa menciptakan sebuah lingkungan pembelajaran yang inklusif guna memberi efek positif dalam motivasi belajar, interaksi sosial, dan perkembangan potensi diri peserta didik tuli dengan penerapan ajaran desain Deaf Space. Perancangan ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mengetahui elemen-elemen di sekolah montessori dengan memakai metode perancangan kualitatif. Teknik penghimpunan data yang dipakai yakni studi literatur, wawancara dan observasi dengan menghimpunkan data lapangan.
