Abstract
Thermal comfort is one element of comfort that is very important, because it concerns the condition of a comfortable room temperature. As is known, humans feel the heat or cold is a form of sensory sensors on the skin against the temperature stimuli around it. Sensory sensors play a role in conveying stimulus information to the brain, where the brain will give orders to certain body parts to anticipate to maintain a temperature of about 37ºC. This is necessary organs in order to perform its functions properly. (Rilatupa 2008) Mosque is an inseparable part of the life of Indonesian people who mostly convert to Islam. The mosque is a place of worship, where Muslims interact with God the Creator. In order for the worship performed to be more calm, the mosque must have the comfort of temperature, Comfort temperature is influenced by various elements of the building, including the roof of the mosque, (Yulianti 200). Therefore it is necessary to conduct a research on how to build a mosque with all the activities of Muslim congregations that can adapt to the climate in humid tropics, so that the building users can feel comfortable while in the building Kenyamanan termal merupakan salah satu unsur kenyamanan yang sangat penting, karena menyangkut kondisi suhu ruangan yang nyaman. Seperti diketahui, manusia merasakan panas atau dingin merupakan wujud dari sensor perasa pada kulit terhadap stimuli suhu di sekitarnya. Sensor perasa berperan menyampaikan informasi rangsangan kepada otak, dimana otak akan memberikan perintah kepada bagian-bagian tubuh tertentu agar melakukan antisipasi untuk mempertahankan suhu sekitar 37ºC. Hal ini diperlukan organ tubuh agar dapat menjalankan fungsinya secara baik. (Rilatupa 2008) Masjid merupakan bagian yang tidak dapat terpisahkan dari kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia yang sebagian besar penduduknya memeluk agama Islam. Masjid merupakan tempat beribadah, tempat umat Islam berinteraksi dengan Tuhan Sang Pencipta. Agar ibadah yang dilakukan menjadi lebih tenang, masjid harus memiliki kenyamanan suhu, Kenyamanan suhu ini dipengaruhi oleh berbagai elemen bangunan, termasuk atap masjid, (Yulianti 200). Oleh karena itu perlu diadakan suatu penelitian bagaimana bangunan masjid dengan segala aktifitas jemaah muslim yang dapat beradaptasi dengan iklim di daerah tropis lembab, sehingga para pengguna bangunan dapat merasakan kenyamanan pada saat berada pada bangunan tersebut
