Abstract
A sootblower functions to clean pipes from dirt or slagging. In the operation of a coal-fired boiler in a power plant, there is potential for decreased boiler efficiency due to dirt or slagging. When operated, the sootblower sprays auxiliary hot steam to clean the outer walls of the pipes and elements on the air heater with the aim of increasing boiler efficiency and preventing damage to the boiler pipes. In this study, the author analyzes the impact of the operational pattern of using the sootblower twice compared to using it once on the boiler efficiency at Suralaya power plant Unit 3. The calculation method used involves comparing the boiler's energy input and output. The operational pattern of the sootblower indicates the extent of the impact on boiler efficiency during operation. Based on data processing, it is found that the one-time operation pattern has an average efficiency value of 72.96%, compared to the two-time sootblower pattern with an average efficiency of 74.23%. Meanwhile, operation without sootblowing results in an average efficiency of 67.73%. Based on the comparison of boiler efficiency between the one-time and two-time operational patterns, it can be concluded that a one-time sootblower operation pattern is sufficient for the operational needs of the Suralaya power plant Unit 3, resulting in a make-up water usage savings of 1.27% or 3.49 tons/shift. Keywords: Sootblower, operational pattern, boiler efficiency Sootblower berfungsi untuk membersihkan pipa – pipa dikarenakan kotoran atau slagging. Dalam pengoperasian boiler pada PLTU berbahan bakar batubara, terdapat potensi penurunan efisiensi boiler dikarenakan kotoran atau slagging. Saat dioperasikan, Sootblower menyemprotkan uap panas auxiliary untuk membersihkan dinding luar pipa - pipa dan element pada air heater dengan tujuan untuk menaikkan efisiensi pada boiler dan menghindari kerusakan pipa – pipa boiler. Dalam penelitian ini penulis mengAnalisis dampak pengaruh pola pengoperasian dengan 2 kali Sootblower dibandingkan dengan 1 kali pola Sootblower terhadap efisiensi boiler di PLTU Suralaya unit 3. Metoda perhitungan yang digunakan dengan perbandingan energi input dan output boiler. Pola pengoperasian Sootblower memberikan seberapa besar dampak efisiensi dari boiler ketika beroperasi. Berdasarkan pengolahan data diketahui bahwa dengan pola 1 kali operasi mempunyai nilai efisiensi rata – rata sebesar 72,96 %, dibandingkan dengan pola 2 kali Sootblower dengan rata – rata efisiensi sebesar 74,23 %. Sedangkan pengoperasian tanpa sootblower diperoleh rata – rata efisiensi sebsar 67,73 % Berdasarkan perbandingan efisiensi boiler pada pola pengoperasian 1 dan pengoperasian 2, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan pola pengoperasian 1 kali Sootblower sudah mencukupi kebutuhan operasi pada pembangkit PLTU Suralaya Unit 3. Dimana terdapat penghematan pemakaian make up water sebesar 1,27 % atau 3,49 Ton/shift. Kata kunci :Sootblower, pola pengoperasian, efisiensi boiler
