Abstract

Students who play online games will express emotional reactions in various forms. A person's emotions can be controlled if they know themselves, controlling emotions is one factor that everyone must pay attention to. Students often experience dynamic emotional changes caused by online games, so this research is expected to find out the relationship between cognitive appraisal and online games related to social skills in Jakarta students. The research hypothesis is that there is a relationship between cognitive appraisal and social skills in students who play online games in Jakarta. Thus, this research aims to examine the possibility of a relationship between two variables, namely the social skills variable and the cognitive appraisal variable. The aim of the research is to show comprehensive data by looking for online game players consisting of students. The location that will be focused on is students who are online game users in Jakarta. Based on the research results obtained, the researchers succeeded in collecting 160 respondents, and based on the calculation results, the results were in accordance with the hypothesis, namely that there was a relationship between cognitive appraisal and social skills in students who played online games. Mahasiswa yang bermain game online akan mengeluarkan reaksi emosi dalam berbagai bentuk. Emosi seseorang bisa dikendalikan bilamana mereka mengenal diri mereka sendiri, mengontrol emosi adalah salah satu faktor yang harus diperhatikan oleh semua orang. Mahasiswa sering mengalami dinamika perubahan emosional yang disebabkan oleh game online, sehingga penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mengetahui hubungan dari cognitive appraisal dan game online yang berkaitan dengan keterampilan sosial di mahasiswa Jakarta. Hipotesis penelitian adalah terdapat hubungan antara cognitive appraisal dengan keterampilan sosial pada mahasiswa yang bermain game online di Jakarta. Dengan demikian penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti kemungkinan adanya keterkaitan antara dua variabel, yakni variabel keterampilan sosial, dan variabel cognitive appraisal. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah memperlihatkan data yang komprehensif dengan mencari pemain game online yang terdiri dari para mahasiswa. Lokasi yang akan difokuskan adalah mahasiswa para pengguna game online yang berada di Jakarta. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang didapat, peneliti berhasil mengumpulkan 160 responden, serta berdasarkan hasil perhitungan diperoleh hasil sesuai hipotesis yaitu terdapat hubungan antara cognitive appraisal dan keterampilan sosial pada mahasiswa yang bermain game online.
