Abstract
One of the applications of computer technology is the use of computer network systems. WiFi hotspot user management is crucial, including managing access, regulating speed, tracking usage, and implementing security policies. Hotspot user management is determined by user profiles, where bandwidth limits can be set through speed limit settings on user profiles. This research focuses on WiFi hotspot management using a MikroTik router and Winbox software at PT.XYZ, a certification company in South Jakarta. The aim of this research is to improve network security, confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA), efficiency, and performance through a login system that regulates user access. The Simple Queue bandwidth management method and Black Box Testing are used to evaluate input and output performance, ensuring that system functionality meets expectations. The research process involved observation, interviews with employees and guests, and a literature review to understand the problems and find the best solutions. The results show that the implementation of hotspot management with login features and bandwidth settings on the MikroTik router successfully improves network performance and security. System testing shows that user login works well and the system can manage access effectively and bandwidth can be focused as needed. The final evaluation emphasizes the importance of regular equipment updates and periodic monitoring to ensure smooth network operations. This research provides a comprehensive guide for WiFi hotspot management that can be applied in various organizations and businesses. Salah satu penerapan teknologi komputer adalah penggunaan sistem jaringan komputer. Manajemen pengguna Hotspot WiFi sangat penting, termasuk mengelola akses,mengatur kecepatan, melacak penggunaan, dan menerapkan kebijakan keamanan. Manajemen pengguna hotspot ditentukan oleh profil pengguna, di mana batasan bandwidth dapat diatur melalui pengaturan batas kecepatan pada profil pengguna. Penelitian ini berfokus pada manajemen hotspot WiFi menggunakan router MikroTik dan software Winbox di PT.XYZ sebuah perusahaan sertifikasi di Jakarta Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keamanan jaringan confidentiality integrity availability (CIA), efisiensi, dan performa jaringan melalui sistem login yang mengatur akses pengguna. Metode pengaturan bandwith Simple Queue dan Black Box Testing digunakan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja input dan output, memastikan fungsionalitas sistem berjalan sesuai harapan. Proses penelitian melibatkan observasi, wawancara dengan karyawan dan tamu, serta studi pustaka untuk memahami permasalahan dan menemukan solusi terbaik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan manajemen hotspot dengan fitur login dan pengaturan bandwith pada router MikroTik berhasil meningkatkan performa dan keamanan jaringan. Pengujian sistem menunjukkan bahwa login pengguna berfungsi dengan baik dan sistem dapat mengatur akses secara efektif dan bandwith dapat di fokuskan sesuai kebutuhan. Evaluasi akhir menekankan pentingnya pembaruan rutin peralatan dan monitoring berkala untuk memastikan kelancaran operasional jaringan. Penelitian ini memberikan panduan komprehensif untuk manajemen hotspot WiFi yang dapat diterapkan di berbagai organisasi dan bisnis .
