Abstract

This research entitled "The Effect of Petroleum Price and Plastic Raw Material Price on Return on Assets on Plastic Raw Material Company in Indonesia Quarter I 2011 - Quarter IV 2016" According to a survey from 1970 to 2000, plastic consumption in the world is increasing exceeds iron and steel. There are acceptable economic reasons in the trend. Plastics are lighter and generally more resistant to corrosion. Plastic domestic demand for raw materials continues to increase, but most of the domestic demand is still dependent on imports. With the growing need for plastic raw materials in the country, upstream, downstream and downstream companies will certainly increase their production capacity to meet the growing demand in the country. with the aim of minimizing the import of plastic raw materials. The effectiveness of companies producing Plastic Raw Materials in Indonesia in generating profits by utilizing their assets has a positive impact on the percentage of Return on Assets. The sample used was 3 companies during the period of 1st Quarter of 2011 - 4th Quarter of 2016. Independent variables used were Petroleum Price, Naphtha Price, Ethylene Price, Polyethylene Price, Ethylene Glycol Price, Polyvinyl Chloride Price and Propylene Price Simultaneously Influential to Return on Assets and partially only Ethylene Price and Ethylene Glycol Price which has a significant negative effect on Return on Assets
