Abstract

The LED turn signal lamp or Winker lamp is an essential component in motorcycles, serving to signal other drivers when changing lanes while driving. One common issue during the production of turn signal lamps is leakage, which has the potential to cause a short circuit in the electrical components. When examined in terms of the process, leakage can result from the Infrared (IR) Welding machine.To manufacture the Winker lamp component, there are two plastic material parts: the lens and the housing, which are joined together using the Infrared Welding machine. In a brief overview of the process, the surfaces of the lens and housing are simultaneously heated by a heater and then pressed together with a hydraulic cylinder. Inside the heater, there is an adjustable lamp that can convert light into heat. This research aims to determine the temperature and melt time required to produce a leakage-resistant LED turn signal lamp by varying the temperature of the adjustable lamp on the heater and the melt time or bonding time between the housing and lens with the heater. The method used to analyze the strength of the Infrared Welding joints is the water pressure breaking test. The method employed to measure the temperature on the surface of the lens and housing is by using an Infrared Thermal Camera. After testing, there were visual differences in the results for each sample. To achieve the strongest joint in the Winker lamp, a temperature of 190°C and a melt time of 15 seconds are required. The strength of the welding joint is 4.2 MPa. Keywords: LED Winker Lamp, Infra Red Welding, Water Pressure Test, Infra Red Thermal Camera Lampu sein LED atau Led Winker lamp adalah komponen penting pada motor yang berfungsi memberi isyarat untuk pengemudi lain saat hendak berpindah jalur saat berkendara. Salah satu masalah yang timbul ketika lampu sein diproduksi adalah kebocoran, yang berpotensi menyebabkan short pada komponen elektrik. Jika ditinjau dari prosesnya, kebocoran dapat dihasilkan dari mesin Infra Red Welding. Untuk membuat komponen winker lamp, terdapat dua bagian yang bermaterial plastik yaitu lens dan housing yang direkatkan oleh mesin Infra Red Welding. Cara kerja singkatnya, permukaan lens dan housing dipanaskan secara bersamaan oleh heater kemudian ditekan dengan silinder hidrolik. Di dalam heater terdapat adjustable lamp yang dapat mengkonversi cahaya menjadi panas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui temperatur dan melt time yang diperlukan untuk mendapatkan output lampu sein LED yang anti terhadap kebocoran dengan cara memvariasikan temperatur adjustable lamp pada heater dan melt time atau waktu perekatan antara housing dan lens dengan heater. Metode yang digunakan untuk analisis kekuatan hasil sambungan Infra Red Welding adalah dengan menggunakan water pressure breaking test. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengukur temperatur di permukaan lens dan housing adalah menggunakan Infra Red Thermal Camera. Setelah pengujian, terdapat perbedaan hasil visual untuk masing-masing sampel. Untuk mendapatkan hasil sambungan terkuat pada Winker lamp adalah dengan temperatur 190°C dan melt time 15 detik. Kekuatan hasil sambungan lasnya adalah sebesar 4.2 MPa. Kata kunci: LED Winker Lamp, Infra Red Welding, Water Pressure Test, Infra Red Thermal Camera
