Abstract
PT GMF Aeroasia is one of the Maintenance Repair Organizations (MRO) businesses specializing in aircraft maintenance. The conclusion of the COVID-19 pandemic has led to some airlines, such as Garuda Indonesia, resuming operations of aircraft, particularly the Airbus 330 series, which had previously been grounded due to the surge in demand for aircraft fleets in 2023.Based on observations of data collected from May 2020 to April 2023, a significant delay has occurred in the reactivation process, especially in the cabin restoration phase of Garuda Indonesia's Airbus 330 aircraft. Out of the 51 reactivated aircraft, 38 experienced delays in cabin restoration, impacting the Turn Around Time Project and potentially causing losses for the company. To mitigate these delays, this research employs the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) method with the assistance of tools such as Pareto diagrams and cause-and-effect diagrams. Six delay factors were identified: Late Findings, Late Material, Tools & Equipment, Less Experience, Lack of Manpower, and Less Knowledge. Late Findings emerged as the dominant factor, accounting for 39.47% with a sigma value of 2.37 (Less Good). Therefore, improvements were implemented using the 5W + 1H method, and the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) method was employed to address the issues and generate precise problem resolutions. Addressing the most significant issue, this study proposes uniform training for all personnel, especially those in the field, to ensure that the inspection process is carried out by qualified and proficient individuals, thereby reducing the occurrence of late findings. Keywords : Delay, DMAIC, cause and effect diagram, 5W + 1H, PDCA PT GMF Aeroasia merupakan salah satu perusahaan bisnis MRO (Maintenance Repair Organization) yang bergerak pada bidang perawatan pesawat. Dengan berakhirnya endemi COVID-19 membuat beberapa airline seperti Garuda Indonesia kembali mengoperasikan pesawat khususnya airbus 330 series yang sebelumnya mengalami grounded dikarenakan melonjaknya permintaan armada pesawat di tahun 2023 ini. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan data yang diambil pada periode waktu Mei 2020 s/d April 2023 telah terjadi keterlambatan yang signifikan dalam proses reaktivasi khususnya pada fase cabin restoration pesawat airbus 330 milik Garuda Indonesia. Dari 51 pesawat yang di reaktivasi 38 diantaranya mengalami keterlambatan cabin restoration, sehingga mempengaruhi pada Turn Around Time Project yang dapat mengakibatkan kerugian pada perusahaan. Untuk mengurangi terjadinya keterlambatan, yang terjadi maka penelitian ini dibuat dengan menggunakan metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) dengan bantuan tool diagram paretto, cause and effect diagram. Terdapat 6 faktor keterlambatan yang terjadi diantaranya Late Findings, Late Material, Tools & Equipment, Less Experiences, Lack of Man Power, and Less Knowledge. Faktor Late Findings merupakan faktor dominan yang terjadi sebesar 39,47% dengan nilai sigma 2,37 (Kurang Baik). Maka dari itu perbaikan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode 5W + 1H, dan dilakukan Improvement dengan menggunakan metode PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) untuk mengurangi permasalahan dan menghasilkan perbaikan masalah yang tepat. Berdasarkan permasalahan terbesar, penelitian ini memberikan usulan adanya perlakuan training yang merata kepada seluruh personal khususnya dilapangan agar pada proses inspeksi dapat dilakukan dengan orang yang tercukupi dengan kualifikasi handal untuk mengurangi terjadinya late findings.
