Abstract

In Indonesia, the issue of sexual violence is quite high, especially against children. Lack of sex education given to children at an early age can cause children to be easily influenced and become victims of sexual abuse. The role of parents in providing sex education for young children is very important through interpersonal communication with children. This research aims to determine the role of interpersonal communication between parents and early childhood in providing understanding about sex education. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach, with descriptive methods. The research subjects were parents who had young children. Data collection techniques were carried out using interviews. Interpersonal communication between parents and early childhood is very important and has been implemented by parents. Parents consider interpersonal communication to influence children's growth and development. In carrying out interpersonal communication with their children, the parents who were the subjects of this research applied the principles of interpersonal communication, including openness, self-confidence, empathy and closeness. Key words: sex education, interpersonal communication, parents, early childhood. Di Indonesia, isu kekerasan seksual cukup tinggi, terutama terhadap anak-anak. Kurangnya pendidikan seks yang diberikan kepada anak usia dini dapat menjadi penyebab mudahnya anak dipengaruhi dan menjadi korban pelecehan seksual. Peran orang tua untuk memberikan pendidikan seks bagi anak usia dini sangat penting melalui komunikasi antarpribadi dengan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komunikasi antarpribadi orang tua dan anak usia dini dalam memberikan pemahaman tentang pendidikan seks. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitiannya ialah orang tua yang memiliki anak usia dini. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Komunikasi antarpribadi orang tua dan anak usia dini sangatlah penting dan sudah diterapkan oleh para orang tua. Orang tua menganggap komunikasi antarpribadi dapat mempengaruhi tumbuh kembang anak. Dalam melakukan komunikasi antarpribadi dengan anak-anaknya, para orang tua yang menjadi subjek dalam penelitian ini menerapkan prinsip- prinsip komunikasi antarpribadi, diantaranya ialah keterbukaan, kepercayaan diri, empati dan kedekatan. Kata kunci: pendidikan seks, komunikasi antarpribadi, orang tua, anak usia dini.
