Abstract

The palm oil mill (POM) office building is a supporting building facility in the palm oil processing industry. The building office consists of 2 floors and has 17 rooms, containing 37 employees and office equipment which operates from 08.00- 16.00. Due to the existence of work activities, it will generate heat that comes from sensible and latent loads, to obtain ideal comfort conditions according to the SNI standards for employees an air conditioning system is needed. This study aims to design air conditioning equipment from the POM office building design in West Kalimantan. The calculation of cooling load and ducting size for cooling air distribution is carried out by referring to the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards. Air conditioning equipment design using air conditioning and cooling air distributionsystems using ducting. The ducting system is used because of the flexibility in determining the size. Ducting design routing was done using Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit software. From the calculation results, the contribution of sensible load is greater than the latent load with a proportion of 75.5% of the total load. ThekW with a maximum cooling air capacity of 7.117 m3 / s. Determined the use of air conditioning using the VRF type with a capacity of 72.7 kW. The design uses 1 main ducting which is divided into 2 branch ducts for distribution to each room using 32 diffuser units. CFD test is carried out on the main ducting for the calculation validation process Keywords : ASHRAE, Cooling load, Ducting, HVAC, Design, CFD Gedung kantor pabrik kelapa sawit (PKS) merupakan fasilitas bangunan pendukung dalam industri pengolahan kelapa sawit. Kantor pabrik terdiri dari 2 lantai yang terdiri dari 17 ruangan, berisi 37 pegawai dan peralatan kantor yang beroperasi dari pukul 08.00-16.00. Sehubungan adanya aktivitas kerja maka akan menghasilkan panas yang bersumber dari beban sensibel dan laten, untuk mendapatkan kondisi kenyamanan yang ideal sesuai standar SNI bagi pegawai diperlukan sistem pengkondisian udara. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang peralatan pengkondisian udara dari desain ruang kantor PKS di Kalimantan Barat. Perhitungan beban pendingin dan ukuran ducting untuk distribusi udara pendingin dilakukan dengan mengacu standar American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air- Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Desain peralatan pengkondisian udara oC menjadi 25 oC adalah 58,22 kW dengan kapasitas udara pendinginan maksimum sebesar 7,117 m3/det. Ditentukan penggunaan AC menggunakan tipe VRF dengan kapasitas 72,7 kW. Dalam desain menggunakan 1 ducting utama yang dibagi menjadi 2 ducting cabang untuk distribusi ke masing-masing ruangan menggunakan 32 unit diffuser. Dilakukan uji CFD pada main ducting untuk proses validasi perhitungan. Digunakan sistem ducting karena fleksibilitas dalam hal penentuan ukuran. Dalam perancangan rute jalur dilakukan menggunakan software Autodesk AutoCAD dan Revit. Dari hasil perhitungan didapatkan kontribusi beban sensibel lebih besar dari beban laten dengan proporsi 75,5% dari total beban.
