Abstract

As the one manufacturing companies in Indonesia, PT.Astra Honda Motor that produce X motorcycle and X engine gains the highest sales figures with the highest sales figures every year. In the manufacturing process, the company carry out the existence of the optimal material inventory control and on demand of production. Recently, the material inventory control system at PT.Astra Honda Motor has not been optimized with the incapability to determine stock levels and control high inventory cost. This causes overstocks and repeating purchase orders many times with consequences the high ordering cost, storage cost and inventory cost. There are three method to optimized the material inventory control in this study, there are Q method, P method and Min-Max Methode. The Q method that also called Continuous Review System or fixed order quantity system is a method with fixed Q units will be ordered when the inventory stock levels falls to a predetermined R point. The P Method is a method with inspection of inventory stock levels or stock position at any fixed period of time in P. The Min-Max method is a method with Re-Order perfomed when the inventory stock levels has falls to to the minimum levels and approaches the safety stock level. In this study the results will compare between the Q method, the P method, and the MIN-MAX method. From this comparison, it will be seen that the inventory cost with which method has the smallest inventory cost so that you will see how much savings can be made. PT.Astra Honda Motor merupakan salah satu perusahaan manufaktur di Indonesia yang memproduksi sepeda motor X dan engine X dengan angka penjualan tertinggi setiap tahunnya. Dalam proses manufacturing perusahaan perlu melakukan pengedalian persediaan material yang seoptimal mungkin dan sesuai permintaan produksi. Pada PT.Astra Honda Motor ini sistem pengendalian persediaan material belum terlaksana secara optimal. Salah satu permasalahannya adalah ketidakmampuan PT.Astra Honda Motor dalam menentukan stock level dan tingginya biaya persediaan. Sehingga, menimbulkan overstock dan melakukan pemesanan terus-menerus yang menyebabkan tingginya biaya pesan , biaya simpan serta biaya persediaannya. Metode Q disebut juga Continuous Review System atau fixed order quantity system. Jika status persediaan turun sampai titik R yang ditentukan sebelumnya, maka akan dilakukan pemesanan sejumlah Q unit yang selalu tetap. Metode P adalah pemerikaan stock persediaan atau posisi persediaan pada setiap periode waktu yang tetap yaitu pada periode P. Dan metode MIN-MAX apabila persediaan telah melewati batas minimum dan mendekati batas Safety Stock, maka Re-Order harus dilakukan. Dalam penelitian ini hasil akan membandingkan antara metode Q, metode P, dan metode MIN-MAX. Dari perbandingan tersebut akan terlihat biaya persediaan dengan metode mana yang memiliki biaya persediaan terkecil segingga akan terlihat berapa penghematan yang bisa dilakukan. Kata Kunci : Pengendalian persediaan, material cylinder head type K56, Continous Review System (Q), Periodic Review System (P), Min-Max.
