Abstract

Bangtan sonyeondan (BTS) fans or ARMYs are the largest K-Pop fandom community and are active in pro-social activities such as donations, campaigns, and volunteering. Prosocial behavior is behavior that is carried out voluntarily without expecting anything in return with the aim of providing welfare or benefits to someone in need. The prosocial behavior that is carried out is related to the fan's social identity as ARMY. This study aims to see the effect of social identity on prosocial behavior among bangtan sonyeondan (BTS) fans. This research involved 354 respondents who were taken based on a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of BTS fans aged 18-40 years and had participated in donating or helping those in need. The results of hypothesis testing used simple linear regression analysis and showed that there was a 6.8% social identity effect on prosocial behavior among bangtan sonyeondan (BTS) fans while 93.2% was influenced by other factors such as group norms, beliefs, and others. Keywords : Social Identity, Prosocial Behaviour, Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) Fans Penggemar bangtan sonyeondan (BTS) atau yang disebut ARMY merupakan sebuah komunitas fandom K-Pop terbesar dan aktif dalam kegiatan prososial seperti donasi, kampanye, maupun menjadi sukarelawan. Perilaku prososial adalah perilaku yang dilakukan dengan sukarela tanpa mengharapkan imbalan apapun dengan tujuan memberikan kesejahteraan atau keuntungan bagi seseorang yang membutuhkan. Perilaku prososial yang dilakukan berkaitan dengan identitas sosial penggemar tersebut sebagai ARMY. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh identitas sosial terhadap perilaku prososial pada penggemar bangtan sonyeondan (BTS). Penelitian ini melibatkan 354 responden yang diambil berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria penggemar BTS yang berusia 18-40 tahun dan pernah ikut serta berdonasi atau membantu yang membutuhkan. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana dan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh identitas sosial 6,8% terhadap perilaku prososial pada penggemar bangtan sonyeondan (BTS) sementara 93,2% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain seperti norma kelompok, kepercayaan, dan lain-lain.
