Abstract
This study aims to determine whether or not there is a relationship between the dimensions of emotion regulation and the dimension of self reflection especially in the fifth semester students who experience negative events. The population in this study were V semester students at Mercu Buana Jakarta University, Faculty of Psychology, 2015. The sampling technique used was Purposive Sampling, with a sample of 88 people. In an effort to prove the hypothesis above, Pearson's analysis uses SPSS (version 23). Based on the analysis of the data, it was found that there was a relationship between the dimensions of emotion regulation, namely expressive suppression and the dimension of self reflection that is self distance with the direction of a positive relationship with a r value of 0.212 (p≤0.05). Then the dimension of emotion regulation, namely expressive suppression has a relationship with the dimension of self reflection which is reconstruing with the direction of a positive relationship, with a r value of 0.241 (p≤0.05). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya hubungan antara dimensi regulasi emosi dengan dimensi refleksi diri khususnya pada mahasiswa semester V yang mengalami peristiwa negatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester V Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta, Fakultas Psikologi angkatan 2015. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Purposive Sampling, dengan jumlah sampel 88 orang. Dalam upaya untuk membuktikan hipotesis diatas, maka digunakan analisis Pearson menggunakan SPSS (versi 23). Berdasarkan analisis data tersebut, didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat hubungan antara dimensi regulasi emosi, yaitu expressive suppression dengan dimensi refleksi diri yaitu self distance dengan arah hubungan positif dengan nilai r sebesar 0.212 (p≤0.05). Kemudian dimensi regulasi emosi, yaitu expressive suppression memiliki hubungan dengan dimensi refleksi diri yaitu reconstruing dengan arah hubungan positif, dengan nilai r sebesar 0.241 (p≤0.05).
