Abstract

The Research & Development (R&D) Department of PT XYZ has a warehouse which is used to store cut sections or pieces of tires developed at the company. The purpose of storing cut sections is that to help identify claim by customers; besides, as a reference for further product development. During the warehouse operates, recording transaction is still conducted manually by using Ms. Excel. Furthermore, the impact of manual recording is that the emergence of poor quality information which can cause stock bias. Based on the results of stock opname which is conducted, there are 219 pieces of missing cut sections. It absolutely will be a problem when the cut section is needed since the stock data is still stored, yet the actual physical does not exist. Therefore, in order to overcome this problem, a barcode system is designed for cut section warehouse activities. After the design process is complete, validation of the designed system is conducted. The validation is conducted by testing on 1000 pcs cut sections with the results of manual recording of final stock data. The result of the validation is that there is a difference of 4 pcs more than the results of stock opname. Meanwhile, data from recording using a barcode system the result of final stock amount is the same as the results of stock opname. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of a barcode system in cut section warehouse activities can minimize errors in the recording transaction process and can produce precise and accurate data recording with the stock opname results. Keywords: Cut Section, Warehouse Activity, Barcode System, Stock Opname Departemen Research & Development (R&D) PT XYZ mempunyai sebuah gudang yang dugunakan untuk menyimpan cut section atau potongan dari ban-ban yang di kembangkan di perusahaan tersebut. Tujuan penyimpanan cut section adalah untuk membantu identifikasi klaim oleh pelanggan dan sebagai referensi pengembangan produk selanjutnya. Selama gudang beroperasi pencatatan transaski masih dilakukan secara manual menggunakan file Ms. Excel. Dampak dari pencatatan secara manual tersebut adalah timbulnya informasi yang kurang berkualitas yang dapat menimbulkan bias terhadap stok. Berdasarkan hasil stock opname yang dilakukan terdapat sebanyak 219 pcs cut section yang hilang. Hal ini tentunya akan menjadi masalah ketika cut section tersebut dibutuhkan karena pada data stok masih tersimpan, tetapi aktual fisiknya tidak ada. Untuk menanggulangi permasalahan tersebut, dilakukan perancangan sistem barcode pada aktivitas gudang cut section. Setelah proses perancangan selesai, maka dilakukan validasi terhadap sistem yang dirancang. Validasi dilakukan dengan cara uji coba terhadap 1000 pcs cut section, dengan hasil pada pencatatan manual data stok akhir terdapat selisih 4 pcs lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan hasil stock opname, sedangkan data dari pencatatan menggunakan sistem barcode jumlah stok akhir sama dengan hasil stock opname. Maka dari itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengunaan sistem barcode pada aktivitas gudang cut section dapat meminimalisir kesalahan dalam proses pencatatan transaksi dan dapat menghasilkan pencatatan data yang tepat dan akurat terhadap hasil stock opname.
