Abstract
The process of increasing the value of hardness and strength that is commonly carried out is the heat treatment process. All materials that have undergone a heat treatment process can adjust their strength values based on the desired material strength objectives by changing the temperature and time of the heat treatment. However, the heat treatment manual on the material structure of the Boeing 747 does not reveal differences in strength values, hardness values, differences in microstructure between materials that are heat treated from Aluminum alloy 7075-T0 to Aluminum alloy 7075- T6 with the original Aluminum alloy 7075-T6 material without heat treatment. This study aims to determine the effect of the heat treatment process on the hardening process of the 7075 aluminum alloy. Based on the test results, it was found that the artificial aging treatment with a temperature of 125°C for 24 hours was the most optimal temperature and heat treatment time to achieve the hardness and tensile strength values closest to the hardness and tensile strength values of aluminum alloy 7075-T6. The average hardness value obtained is 87.87 HRB and a tensile strength value of 573.41 MPa. The microstructure test also showed the differences in the wide of the precipitate in each heat treatment variable. And the greater the precipitate area obtained after the heat treatment process, the greater the hardness value and UTS value in the test sample material. Keywords: Heat Treatment, Tensile Test, Hardness Test, Microstructures, Aluminium Alloy Proses peningkatan nilai kekerasan dan kekuatan paduan aluminium 7075 yang umum dilakukan adalah proses perlakuan panas. Semua material yang mengalami proses perlakuan panas dapat menyesuaikan nilai kekuatan berdasarkan tujuan kekuatan material yang diinginkan dengan mengubah suhu dan waktu pelaksanaan perlakuan panas tersebut. Namun pada manual perlakuan panas pada material structure Boeing 747 tidak memberi tahu perbedaan nilai kekuatan, nilai kekerasan dan perbedaan struktur mikro antara material yang dilakukan perlakuan panas dari Aluminium alloy 7075-T0 menjadi Aluminium alloy 7075-T6 dengan material asli Aluminium alloy 7075-T6 tanpa perlakuan panas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh proses perlakuan panas pada proses pengerasan material aluminium alloy 7075. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian didapatkan bahwa perlakuan artificial aging dengan suhu 125°C selama 24 jam merupakan suhu dan waktu perlakuan panas yang paling optimal untuk mencapai nilai kekerasan dan kekuatan tarik yang paling mendekati dengan nilai kekerasan dan kekuatan tarik aluminium alloy 7075-T6. Adapun nilai kekerasan ratarata yang didapatkan sebesar 87,87 HRB dan nilai kekuatan tarik sebesar 573,41 MPa. Uji struktur mikro juga menunjukkan adanya perbedaan luasan presipitat pada setiap variabel perlakuan panas. Dan didapatkan semakin besar luasan presipitat yang timbul setelah proses perlakuan panas maka semakin besar juga nilai kekerasan dan nilai UTS pada material sampel uji.
