Abstract
With the increasing number of people it will cause the need for electricity use every year will increase. In electrical substations that supply residential areas will be more customers one phasa, which the time of installation of new splicing or the addition of customer power is not together, this can cause an unbalanced load on the substation distribution transformer that supplies, because . As a result of the imbalance of the load appears the current in the neutral transformer. Currents that flow in the neutral transformer cause losses (losses), namely losses due to the presence of neutral currents on the neutral delivery of the transformer and losses due to neutral currents flowing to the ground. After analysis, it was obtained that if there is a large load imbalance of 29.33% (noon) and 20.33% (night), then the neutral current that appears is also large, and losses due to neutral currents flowing to the ground are even greater, namely 4.8% (day) and 5.6% (night). Efforts to repair it by transferring the load from the heavy phase to the light phase. To minimize the imbalance of load and current on the neutral transformer so as to minimize the occurrence of losses (losses). With the calculation of the load imbalance to 17.66% (noon) and 12.66 (night) and the losses to 3.82% (noon) and 5.2% (night). Keywords: load imbalance, neutral current, losses Dengan semakin bertambahnya jumlah penduduk hal itu akan menyebabkan kebutuhan akan penggunaan energi listrik tiap tahunnya akan semakin bertambah. Pada gardu listrik yang menyuplai daerah pemukiman akan lebih banyak pelanggan satu phasa, yang waktu pemasangan penyambungan baru atau penambahan daya pelanggan secara tidak bersama-sama, hal ini dapat menyebabkan beban yang tidak seimbang pada trafo distribusi gardu yang menyuplai, dikarenakan . Akibat ketidakseimbangan beban tersebut muncullah arus di netral trafo. Arus yang mengalir di netral trafo ini menyebabkan terjadinya losses (rugi-rugi), yaitu losses akibat adanya arus netral pada penghantar netral trafo dan losses akibat arus netral yang mengalir ke tanah. Setelah dianalisa, diperoleh bahwa bila terjadi ketidakseimbangan beban yang besar yaitu 29,33% (siang) dan 20,33% (malam), maka arus netral yang muncul juga besar, dan losses akibat arus netral yang mengalir ke tanah semakin besar pula yaitu 4,8% (siang) dan 5,6% (malam). Upaya perbaikannya dengan dilakukan pemindahan beban dari fasa yang berat ke fasa yang ringan. Untuk memperkecil ketidakseimbangan beban dan arus pada netral trafo sehingga memperkecil terjadinya losses (rugi-rugi). Dengan hasil perhitungan ketidakseimbangan beban menjadi 17,66% (siang) dan 12,66 (malam) dan lossesnya menjadi 3,82% (siang) dan 5,2% (malam).
