Abstract

The pattern of family communication in families who have a child with autism is very important, because the pattern of communication carried out to the child will certainly be useful for his life now and in the future. Good communication patterns in the family will have a good impact on children with autistic special needs in communicating and establishing interaction with others. And in this study, research identified family communicating patterns applied by the G’s family and S’s family, to be able to improve the ability of social interaction or social communication for the child. Theory of Interpersonal Communication Process Suranto A.W , 2011, there are 6 important things in the process of interpersonal communication, namely the Desire to Communicate, Encoding by Communicator, Message Delivery, Message Receiving, Decoding by Communicator and Feedback. Fitzpatrick’s Family Communication Pattern Theory, 2009, therea are 4 family communication patterns namely, Protective Communication Patterns, Laissez-Faire Communication Patterns, Pluralist Communication Patterns, and Consensual Communication Patterns. This type of research used in study is a qualitative study and qualitative research methods with case study approach. The research paradigma used is Constructivism. Data collection techniques used in this study with in- depth intervies with 5 speakers (4 speakers, consisting of 2 parents of the G’s family and 2 parents of the S’s family and 1 Psychologist). Based of the result of the study indicate that the family communication patterns applied by the G’s family is the Protective Communication Patterns, while the communication pattern applied by the S’s family is the Laissez-Faire Communication Pattern. Keyword : Family Comunication Pattern, Autism Pola komunikasi keluarga didalam keluarga yang memiliki anak berkebutuhan khusus autis sangatlah penting, karena dengan pola komunikasi yang dilakukan kepada sang anak tentu akan berguna bagi kehidupannya sekarang dan di masa yang akan datang. Pola komunikasi yang baik di dalam keluarga akan membawa dampak yang baik bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus autis dalam berkomunikasi dan menjalin interaksi dengan orang lain. Dan pada penelitian ini, peneliti mengidentifikasi pola komunikasi keluarag yang diterapkan oleh Keluaraga G dan Keluarga S, untuk dapat meningkatkan kemampuan interaksi sosial atau komunikasi sosial bagi sang anak. Teori Proses Komunikasi Interpersonal Suranto AW, 2011 terdapat 6 hal penting dalam proses komunikasi interpersonal yaitu Keinginan Berkomunikasi, Encoding oleh komunikator,Pengiriman Pesan , Penerimaan Pesan, Decoding oleh Komunikan dan Umpan Balik. Teori Pola Komunikasi Keluarga Fitzpatrick, 2009 terdapat 4 pola komunikasi keluarga yaitu, Pola Komunikasi Protektif, Pola Komunikasi LaissezFaire, Pola Komunikasi Pluralist, dan Pola Komunikasi Konsensual. Tipe penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Studi kualitatif dan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Paradigma penelitian yang digunakan Konstruktivisme. Teknik pengumupulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap 5 narasumber (4 narasumber, terdiri dari 2 orang tua Keluarga Galih, dan 2 orang tua Keluarga Satria dan 1 Psikolog) Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola komunikasi keluarga yang diterapkan oleh Keluarga Galih ialah Pola Komunikasi Protektif, sedangkan pola komunikasi yang diterapkan oleh Keluarga Satria ialah Pola Komunikasi Laissez-Faire.
