Abstract

PT KIM is a company engaged in the production of cosmetic and skincare product packaging. This company has been established since 1980 and has a factory located in the Pulogadung area of East Jakarta. However, in its journey to obtain good quality, this company is still experiencing problems that are often encountered in the Part Base of Bottle Lipstick products. As in April 2021 – September 2021 there were 4 (four) types of Base defects found, namely Scratch, Finger Mark, Foreign Material, Crack. The type of defect that has the largest number is scratch. The method used in this research is DMAIC. The results showed that : 1) the biggest defect contributor is scratch with a percentage of 59% of the total defect. (2) the average DPMO in 2021 is 3195,188 with a sigma value of 4.2 (3) from the causal diagram analysis, it is found 5 causes of scratch defects, namely : no tools and hygiene standards, difficult to judge scratch, education and standard handling suppliers with PT. KIM, the lighting is not bright enough, the material used is too rough. Suggestions for improvement that can be given to the company include: making a standard limit sample for operators at PT. KIM with suppliers, adding brighter or more table lamps, modifying the partition on the foam Base, changing the method of wiping/cleaning the Base part, providing tools to carry out the cleaning with a special rag / chamois, educating on more detailed checking methods. This improvement succeeded in increasing the number of six sigma from 4.2 to 4.6. Keyword : Scratch, Bottle Lipstick, DMAIC T KIM merupakan sebuah perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang produksi kemasan produk kosmetik dan Skincare. Perusahaan ini telah berdiri sejak 1980 dan memiliki pabrik yang berlokasi di daerah Pulogadung Jakarta Timur. Namun, dalam perjalanannya memperoleh kualitas yang baik, perusahaan ini masih mengalami permasalahan yang sering dijumpai pada Part Base produk Bottle Lipstick. Sebagaimana pada bulan April 2021 – September 2021 terdapat 4 (empat) jenis defect Base yang ditemukan yaitu Scratch, Finger Mark, Foreign Material, Crack. Jenis defect yang memiliki jumlah terbesar yaitu scratch. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu DMAIC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) penyumbang defect terbesar adalah scratch dengan persentase 59% dari total keseluruhan defect (2) rata-rata DPMO pada tahun 2021 yaitu 3195,188 dengan nilai sigma 4.2 (3) dari analisa diagram sebab akibat didapatkan 5 penyebab timbulnya defect scratch, yaitu : tidak ada alat bantu dan standar kebersihan, sulit untuk judgement scratch, edukasi dan standar handling suplier dengan PT. KIM, pencahayaan kurang terang, material yg digunakan terlalu kasar. Usulan perbaikan yang dapat diberikan kepada perusahaan, antara lain : membuat standar limit sample untuk operator di PT. KIM dengan suplier, menambahkan lampu meja yang lebih terang atau lebih banyak, modifikasi partisi pada foam Base, merubah metode pengelapan / kebersihan part Base, diadakan alat bantu untuk melakukan kebersihan tersebut dengan kain lap / kanebo khusus, edukasi metode pengecekan yang lebih detail. Improvement ini berhasil menaikkan angka six sigma dari 4,2 menjadi 4,6. Kata kunci : Scratch, Bottle Lipstick, DMAIC
