Abstract

The final project is about reducing the defected products and improving product quality by using Quality Control Circle with Deming Cycle (PDCA Cycle), 8 steps of product quality improvement, and 7 quality control tools approach. The concept is PDCA cycle (plan-do-check-act) which is consisted of 4 steps applied to the result, i.e. plan, action, check, and correct. The purpose of the project is to improve product quality and can be considered as reference and basic knowledge of improvement in the present and future times. It is mainly discussed about low OCV value in the batteries. Low OCV value means that the batteries have decreased voltage value. The implemented 7 QC tools in Quality Control Circle are Flow Process Diagram, Stratification, Pareto Diagram, Control Charts, Cause and Effect Diagram, Scatter Diagram, and Check Sheet. The Quality Control Circle is able to decrease low OCV value batteries quantity and solve problems and expected to decrease the rate of other defected products in order to increase the productivity and efficiency. Keyword: Deming Cycle, PDCA, Quality Control 7 tools. Tugas akhir ini membahas tentang Gugus Kendali Mutu yaitu dengan pendekatan siklus Deming (siklus PDCA) 8 langkah peningkatan kualitas serta 7 alat pengendali mutu dalam upaya menurunkan produk cacat serta perbaikan kualitas produk. Konsep yang berlaku di sini adalah siklus PDCA (plan-do-check-act), yang terdiri dari langkah-langkah perencanaan, pelaksanaan rencana, pemeriksaan hasil pelaksanaan rencana, dan tindakan korektif terhadap hasil yang diperoleh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan mutu produk serta sebagai bahan masukan dan dasar untuk mengambil langkah-langkah perbaikan di masa sekarang dan masa yang akan datang. Penelitian ini membahas tentang OCV yang Jelek yaitu baterai yang mengalami penurunan nilai tegangan / Voltage. Dalam implementasi 7 alat pengendali mutu yang digunakan dalam kegiatan Gugus Kendali Mutu, yakni Process Flow Diagram, Stratifikasi, Pareto Diagram, Control Charts, Cause-and-Effect Diagram, Scatter Diagram dan Check Sheet. Akhirnya dengan sistem Gugus Kendali Mutu dapat memecahkan masalah dan menurunkan produk cacat, diharapkan pula dengan sistem Gugus Kendali Mutu ini dapat menurunkan cacat-cacat produk yang lainnya serta dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan produktifitas. Kata kunci : Siklus Deming, PDCA, 7 alat pengendali mutu.
