Abstract

his study aims to describe the stress and coping strategy in college students with multiple roles (study, work, and raise families). This topic was made based on the phenomenon where there are students who are running multi-role (study, work, and raise families). With multiple roles (study, work, and raise families) can be a stressor on the student and the student's success in carrying out multi-role (study, work, and raise families) needed coping strategy. The research method used is qualitative method through interviews, observation and triangulation. Research samples in this research is directed at three students who run multi-role (study, work, and raise families) with a difference in background. The results of this research indicate a major stressor on the three students of multi-role be problems of conflicts of interest between the three roles. The most prominent symptoms of stress include psychic symptoms i.e. anxiety with one role which is often impeded. coping strategy on all three subjects have similarities and differences because of different backgrounds. Keywords: Coping Strategy, stress and multiple-role of Students (studies, work, and raise families) Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan stres dan coping strategy pada mahasiswa dengan multi peran (studi, bekerja, dan berkeluarga). Topik ini diangkat berdasarkan fenomena dimana terdapat mahasiswa yang menjalankan multi-peran (studi, bekerja, dan berkeluarga). Dengan multi peran (studi, bekerja, dan berkeluarga) dapat menjadi stressor pada mahasiswa dan keberhasilan mahasiswa dalam menjalankan multi-peran (studi, bekerja, dan berkeluarga) dibutuhkan coping strategy. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif melalui wawancara, observasi dan triangulasi. Sampel penelitian dalam penelitian ini diarahkan pada tiga mahasiswa yang menjalankan multi-peran (studi, bekerja, dan berkeluarga) dengan perbedaan latar belakang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan stressor utama pada tiga mahasiswa multi-peran berupa masalah konflik kepentingan antara ketiga peran. Gejala stres yang paling menonjol berupa gejala psikis yaitu kecemasan dengan salah satu peran yang sering terhambat. coping strategy pada ketiga subyek memiliki persamaan dan perbedaan karena perbedaan latar belakang. Kata kunci : Coping Strategy, Stres dan Mahasiswa Multi-peran (studi, bekerja, dan berkeluarga)
