Abstract

The design of the Arduino Nano based recycled water filter backwash control system is an effort to overcome the problems that often occur in the operation of the wastewater treatment plant (WTP) system where there are no personnel available to operate equipment regularly, especially the backwash system. The backwash system is designed so that the water filter can be used for a long time. In this study, a prototype of the recycled water filter backwash control system was made using Arduino Nano as a microcontroller. The recycled water filter backwash system works after the filtration process is running. The existing dirt recycling system in the water filter is recycled to be done again. The system is carried out by pumping water in the opposite direction using a solenoid intermittently. The time interval set for each solenoid is ten seconds with a pause of three seconds. Based on the results of equipment testing, it was found that the control system was able to turn on the backwash system according to the program that was created using the Arduino IDE. The control system turns on the backwash system for 262 seconds. During this time, the backwash system consisting of solenoids 1 and 2 turns on alternately with a total on time of solenoid 1 for 30 seconds and solenoid 2 for 20 seconds with 3 seconds delay each and 10 seconds between solenoids. Key words: Arduino Nano, Backwash System, Solenoid Perancangan sistem kontrol backwash filter air daur ulang berbasis Arduino Nano adalah upaya mengatasi permasalahan yang sering terjadi pada pengoperasian sistem instalasi pengolahan air limbah (IPAL) dimana tidak tersedianya personil untuk mengoperasikan peralatan secara berkala, terutama sistem backwash. Sistem backwash dibuat agar filter air daur ulang dapat digunakan dalam jangka waktu yang lama. Pada penelitian kali ini dibuat purwarupa sistem kontrol backwash filter air daur ulang dengan menggunakan Arduino Nano sebagai mikrokontroler. Sistem backwash filter air daur ulang bekerja setelah proses filtrasi berjalan. Sistem membersihkan sisa kotoran yang ada pada filter air daur ulang untuk dilakukan pemrosesan kembali. Sistem dilakukan dengan melakukan pemompaan air dengan arah berlawanan menggunakan solenoid secara terputus-putus. Waktu interval yang ditetapkan tiap solenoid adalah sepuluh detik dengan jeda tiga detik. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian peralatan didapatkan bahwa sistem kontrol menghidupkan sistem backwash sesuai dengan program yang telah dibuat menggunakan Arduino IDE. Sistem kontrol menghidupkan sistem backwash selama 262 detik. Dalam kurun waktu tersebut sistem backwash yang terdiri dari solenoid 1 dan 2 menyala secara bergantian dengan waktu nyala total solenoid 1 selama 30 detik dan solenoid 2 selama 20 detik dengan masing-masing jeda 3 detik dan jeda antar solenoid 10 detik.
