Abstract

Low Temperature Economizer (LTE) is a support system for boilers with a capacity of 1000 MW at unit 1 Coal Fired Power Plant (CFPP) in Serang which serves to increase the temperature of the feed water by utilizing the heat from the flue gas. In 2021, LTE of unit 1 boiler experienced a leakage disruption causing LTE had to stop operating, which has an impact on boiler efficiency and production costs at unit 1 PLTU in Serang, especially on fuel costs. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of LTE performance on boiler efficiency and coal consumption. This research was carried out by collecting data on DCS and field data, when LTE stopped and finally repaired so that it can operate again. The data taken are main steam temperature, main steam pressure, reheater temperature and pressure. The coal used is lignite type coal which has a calorific value below 4500 kCal. All data is calculated by using the direct efficiency calculation method. The result of this research is after LTE put on operation again the LTE performance reaches 69.55% and the boiler efficiency reaches 85.12% compared when the LTE stops, boiler efficiency is only 76.04%. The operation of LTE can save coal usage by more than 4 tons per hour. Production costs on the use of coal can be reduced to Rp. 89.133.886,44 per day. Keywords: Low Temperature Economizer, Boiler, Direct Efficiency Calculation, Fuel Cost kapasitas 1000 MW pada unit 1 Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU) di Serang yang berfungsi untuk meningkatkan temperature air umpan dengan memanfaatkan panas dari gas buang. Pada tahun 2021, LTE pada boiler unit 1 mengalami gangguan sehingga LTE harus berhenti beroperasi. Berhenti beroperasinya LTE berdampak terhadap efisiensi boiler dan biaya produksi pada unit 1 PLTU di Serang khususnya pada biaya bahan bakar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh performa LTE terhadap efisiensi boiler dan penggunaan batubara. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan di DCS dan di lapangan saat LTE berhenti dan akhirnya diperbaiki sehingga dapat beroperasi kembali. Data yang diambil yaitu temperature main steam, pressure main steam, temperature dan pressure reheater. Batubara yang digunakan merupakan batubara tipe lignit yang memiliki nilai kalor dibawah 4500 kCal. Seluruh data kemudian dihitung dengan metode perhitungan efisiensi langsung. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah setelah LTE beroperasi kembali, performa LTE mencapai 69.55% dan efisiensi boiler mencapai 85.12% dibandingkan saat LTE berhenti, efisiensi boiler hanya 76.04%. Adanya LTE dapat menghemat penggunaan batubara mencapai lebih dari 4 ton per jam. Biaya produksi pada pemakaian batubara dapat ditekan mencapai Rp. 89.133.886,44 per hari.
