Abstract

In the distribution of electrical energy in the transmission system to the distribution system, a step-down transformer is needed. The step-down transformer functions to lower the voltage that will be sent to PT. PLN (Persero) customers. In minimizing transformer damage due to short circuit faults, a protection system that works instantaneously is needed, namely differential relay. Differential relays work without the need to coordinate with other relays, directly opening the circuit breaker when a fault occurs. In this study, the author discusses the analysis of the characteristics of the transformer differential relay setting 60MVA unit 2 Durikosambi Substation. This is necessary in order to minimize damage to the transformer and widen the fault area when a short circuit occurs in the transformer, the transformer must be out of the system. Characteristic testing is needed to see the reliability of the differential relay under normal and fault conditions. For this reason, the authors make calculations according to the conditions of the equipment and settings so that they can compare with the test results. From the research results in the minimum pickup zone there is a difference but not significant which is where the test results are still within the PLN standard limits. For testing on the slope 1 zone, the relay works according to the setting which triggers the circuit breaker in the trip zone. Dalam penyaluran energi listrik pada sistem transmisi menuju sistem distribusi diperlukan sebuah transformator step-down. Transformator step-down berfungsi untuk menurukan tegangan yang akan dikirim kepada pelanggan PT.PLN(Persero). Dalam meminimalisir kerusakan transformator akibat gangguan hubung singkat, maka diperlukan sistem proteksi yang bekerja secara instantaneous yaitu relay differensial. Relay differensial bekerja tanpa perlu berkoordinasi dengan relay lain, secara langsung menmbuka circuit breaker ketika terjadi gangguan. Dalam penelitian ini penulis membahas analisis karakteristik setting relay differensial transformator 60MVA unit 2 GI Durikosambi. Hal ini diperlukan agar meminimalisir kerusakan transformator dan meluasnya daerah gangguan pada saat terjadi hubung singkat pada transformator, maka transformator harus keluar dari sistem tersebut. Pengujian karakteristik diperlukan untuk melihat kehandalan relay differensial pada saat kondisi normal maupun kondisi gangguan. Untuk itu penulis membuat perhitungan sesuai dengan kondisi peralatan maupun setting agar bisa membandingkan dengan hasil uji. Dari hasil penelitian pada zona minimum pickup terdapat perbedaan namun tidak signifikan yang dimana hasil uji masih dalam batasan standar PLN. Untuk pengujian pada zona slope 1 relay bekerja sesuai dengan setting yang dimana mentrigger PMT pada zona trip.
