Abstract

Boiler is a closed vessel made of steel to produce hot steam used for heating or as a source of propulsion. Inside the boiler, there is fluid that flows through the To determine the value of the development of fluid flowing in the boiler pipe, it can be known with the help of Fluent CFD (Computation Fluid Dynamic) software. CFD is a method of calculating, predicting, and numerically approximating fluid flow with the aid of a computer. The purpose of this research is to simulate the fluid flow that flows in a stainless steel pipe which has an inner diameter of 11.5 mm and an outer diameter of 12.7 mm along 1500 mm by varying the velocity 0.5 m/s and 1 m/s. After being simulated at a velocity of 1 m/s there was a decrease in pressure during the fluid flowing in the pipe of 4872.157 Pa while at a velocity of 0.5 m/s there was a decrease in pressure during the fluid flowing in the pipe of 10439.031 Pa. Ketel uap (Boiler) suatu bejana tertutup yang terbuat dari baja untuk menghasilkan uap panas digunakan untuk pemanasan atau sebagai sumber tenaga penggerak. Didalam boiler terdapat fluida yang mengalir mengalami perkembangan nilai velocity, themperatur dan pressure untuk mengetahui nilai perkembangan fluida yang mengalir didalam pipa boiler dapat diketahui dengan bantuan software CFD (Computation Fluid Dinamic) Fluent. CFD adalah metode perhitungan, memprediksi, dan pendekatan aliran fluida secara numerik dengan bantuan komputer. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk melakukan simulasi aliran fluida yang mengalir didalam pipa stainless steel yang memiliki ukuran diameter dalam 11,5 mm dan diameter luar 12,7 mm sepanjang 1500 mm dengan memvariasikan velocity 0,5 m/s dan 1 m/s. Setelah disimulasikan pada velocity 1m/s terjadi penurunan tekanan selama fluida mengalir didalam pipa sebesar 4872,157 Pa sedangkan pada velocity 0.5 m/s terjadi penurunan tekanan selama fluida mengalir didalam pipa sebesar 10439,031 Pa. Kata kunci : Boiler, CFD ,Velocity, Fluid, aliran.
