Abstract
ABSTRACT Internet technology is very necessary for customers to communicate and coordinate, either between departments or branches located in each branch. Therefore, PT. Matra Mandiri Prima is very need to be supported with the reliability of good networking technology. PT. Matra Mandiri Prima has been using networking in the implementation of its work activities. But very unfortunate because the networking system at PT. Matra Mandiri Prima until now has not been in good management. Especially in the distribution of bandwidth for each customer. This causes some problems for the customer in carrying out his daily activities. The issues faced are like the internet service for the customer, in the unequal distribution of shared bandwidth to all customers with the same service. PT. Matra Mandiri Prima has not implemented bandwidth management that serves to divide the bandwidth requirement in order to reduce the risk of disruption in its customer network. If there is an increase in excessive activity on a customer who uses the internet can interfere with other customer activities that also require internet connection. In this company the author wants to make the design of bandwidth management, IPv4 IP address design of each customer with a different subnet for internet network in PT. Matra Mandiri Prima by using router Mikrotik RouterOS and HUB VSAT and monitoring design with PRTG tool as writing material of this thesis. Research methodology that writer use is method of HTB. Talking about HTB can not be separated from the term Queue. Queue is used to restrict or prioritize certain traffic. A simple queue is designed to be as simple as possible and easy to configure queue on both small and medium scale networks. Able to limit the use of single client download / upload, limiting P2P traffic. It is expected that the networking system that will be implemented later can function more effectively and can overcome the bandwidth problems contained in the existing network system in the PT. Matra Mandiri Prima. Keywords: internet, bandwidth, queue ABSTRAK Teknologi internet sangat diperlukan pelanggannya untuk melakukan komunikasi dan koordinasi, baik antar departemen atau cabang yang berada di masing-masing cabang. Oleh karena itu, PT. Matra Mandiri Prima ini sangat perlu didukung dengan keandalan teknologi networking yang baik. PT. Matra Mandiri Prima telah menggunakan networking di dalam pelaksanaan aktifitas kerjanya. Namun sangat disayangkan karena sistem networking pada PT. Matra Mandiri Prima sampai saat ini belum di manajemen dengan baik. Terutama pada pembagian bandwidth untuk setiap pelanggannya. Hal ini menyebabkan beberapa masalah bagi pelanggan dalam menjalankan kegiatannya sehari-hari. Hal yang dihadapi seperti layanan internet untuk pelanggan, dalam pembagian bandwidth yang dibagi tidak merata kepada semua pelanggan dengan layanan yang sama. PT. Matra Mandiri Prima belum menerapkan manajemen bandwidth yang berfungsi membagi kebutuhan bandwidth agar mengurangi resiko gangguan pada jaringan pelanggannya. Apabila terjadi peningkatan aktifitas secara berlebihan pada suatu pelanggan yang menggunakan internet dapat mengganggu aktifitas pelanggan lainnya yang juga membutuhkan koneksi internet. Di perusahaan ini penulis ingin membuat perancangan manajemen bandwidth, perancangan IP address IPv4 setiap pelanggan dengan subnet yang berbeda untuk jaringan internet di PT. Matra Mandiri Prima dengan menggunakan router Mikrotik RouterOS dan HUB VSAT dan perancangan monitoring dengan Tool PRTG sebagai bahan penulisan skripsi ini. Metodologi penelitian yang penulis gunakan adalah metode HTB. Berbicara mengenai HTB tidak terlepas dari istilah Queue. Queue digunakan untuk membatasi atau memprioritaskan traffic tertentu. Queue simple dirancang sesederhana mungkin dan mudah dalam melakukan konfigurasi antrian baik pada jaringan skala kecil sampai menengah. Mampu membatasi pemakaian client tunggal download/upload, membatasi traffic P2P. Diharapkan sistem networking yang akan diterapkan nanti dapat berfungsi lebih efektif dan dapat mengatasi masalah bandwidth yang terdapat pada sistem network yang ada di dalam PT. Matra Mandiri Prima. Kata kunci: internet, bandwidth, queue
