Abstract
The Industrial Revolution 4.0 also raises new challenges, which require technical skills and expertise. Facing this, qualified human resources who master science and technology and have the capacity to innovate are absolutely necessary to meet the situation. State advantages in science and technology excellence, innovation, and economic productivity. In real cases, universities must carry out four essential functions, namely education, research, transformation of culture & science and technology, and socio-economic development. To accommodate the needs of students continuing their education to higher education, especially in the medical family, a Medical Research-based campus unit was developed located in Gunung Pati District, Semarang with the Design Concept, namely Social Modernity. Social Modernity. consists of 2 words, namely Social and Modernity, where social is divided into public life which means paying attention to the social life lived by students, and User Integration means the principle of integrated planning by imagining each building in a collection or cluster in which they are a part with 3 main elements. This User Integration is the Academic Core / Core Structure, Community or group Involvement, and Student Experience. Modernity is divided into Dynamic, Transparent and Flexibility, namely matters relating to building systems that are in harmony with needs and nature. Keywords: Medical Research, Campus, Semarang, Education. Revolusi Industri 4.0 juga memuculkan tantangan baru, yang memerlukan kemampuan dan kemahiran teknikal. Menghadapi situasi demikian, SDM berkualitas yang menguasai Iptek dan punya kapasitas inovasi merupakan hal yang mutlak harus dipenuhi. Keunggulan suatu negara tercermin pada penguasaan iptek, kapasitas inovasi, dan produktivitas ekonomi. Dalam kasus nyata Perguruan tinggi harus menjalankan empat fungsi esensial, yaitu pendidikan, penelitian, transformasi kebudayaan & Iptek, serta pembangun sosialekonomi. Untuk mewadahi kebutuhan mahasiswa melanjutkan jenjang ke Pendidikan Tinggi khususnya pada rumpun medis maka dikembangkan unit kampus berbasis Medical Research yang terletak di Kecamatan Gunung Pati Semarang dengan Konsep Perancangan nya yaitu Social Modernity. Social Modernity. terdiri dari 2 kata yaitu Social dan Modernity, dimana social terbagi menjadi public life yang berarti memperhatikan kehidupaan sosial yang di jalani oleh mahasiswa, dan User Integration berarti Prinsip perencanaan terpadu dengan membayangkan setiap bangunan dalam kaitannya dengan kumpulan atau klaster di mana mereka menjadi bagiannya dengan 3 struktur utama dari User Integration ini yaitu Inti Akademik / Core, Keterlibatan Masyarakat atau kelompok, dan Pengalaman Siswa. Modernity terbagi menjadi Dinamis, Transparan dan Fleksibility, yaitu hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan sistem bangunan yang selaras dengan kebutuhan dan alam. Kata Kunci : Penelitian Medis, Kampus, Semarang, Education.
