Abstract

Soekarno-Hatta Airport is a center for the entry and exit of people from within the country and abroad which is busy and full of activities. That Condition, definitely require a cold and cool air conditioning system so that passengers feel comfortable. According to the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 78 of 2015, the temperature in the passenger terminal is ≤ 25oC. The problem found was that the recorded temperature in the passenger waiting room was above 27oC made the room hot and made the room feel uncomfortable, causing complaints from passengers. The high temperature in the waiting room makes the chiller work continuously so that it adds even more power consumption. This high power consumption will affect the value of the COP (Coefficient of Performance), getting higher of the power consumption, getting smaller of the COP produced, getting smaller of the power consumption, getting greater the COP generated. COP is a measure of the performance of a chiller, getting greater the COP value, getting better the chiller's performance will be. The measuring tools used are thermometer and pressure gauge. Then analyze and check each chiller component. The analysis obtained is that the cold air supply produced by the chiller is less than optimal due to the many components of the chiller which are dirty with adhering dust and so on. Because of this problem, maintenance is carried out on the chiller component. The method used is the thermodynamic method, where the data obtained from observations and data collection in the field are calculated and compared. Then the actual power and temperature data are obtained. In waiting room has decreased the temperature 4 oC up to 5 oC after maintenance, then obtained a comparison of power consumption after maintenance which reduces power consumption by 104.812 kW. Both of these data are very important in order to get the chiller COP value. The result is the chiller COP value before maintenance was 5.56 and 6.16 after maintenance. So that it is increasing in the value of COP as much as 9.8%. So that’s why, the existing chiller is still in good condition. Keywords: water chiller, COP, air conditioning, power consumtion Bandara Soekarno-Hatta merupakan pusat keluar masuknya orang-orang dari dalam negeri maupun luar negeri yang ramai dan padat aktifitasnya. Kondisi seperti itu, pasti memerlukan suatu sistem pengkondisian udara yang dingin dan sejuk agar para penumpang merasa nyaman. Menurut Peraturan Menteri Perhubungan Republik Indonesia No 78 Tahun 2015, suhu dalam terminal penumpang yaitu ≤ 25oC. Permasalahan yang ditemukan yaitu tercatatnya suhu diruang tunggu penumpang diatas 27oC membuat keadaan diruangan panas dan membuat ruangan terasa tidak nyaman sehingga menimbulkan complain dari penumpang. Tingginya temperatur diruang tunggu membuat chiller bekerja terus menerus sehingga menambah konsumsi daya yang lebih banyak lagi. Konsumsi daya yang banyak tersebut akan mempengaruhi nilai COP (Coefficient of Performance), semakin tinggi konsumsi daya maka akan semakin kecil COP yang dihasilkan, semakin kecil konsumsi daya yang dihasilkan maka akan semakin besar COP yang dihasilkan. COP merupakan tolak ukur dari kinerja sebuah chiller, semakin besar nilai COP maka kinerja chiller tersebut akan semakin baik. Alat ukur yang digunakan yaitu termometer dan pressure gauge. Kemudian dilakukan analisa dan pengecekan setiap komponen chiller. Analisa yang didapatkan yaitu supply udara dingin yang dihasilkan oleh chiller kurang optimal akibat banyaknya komponen chiller yang kotor akan debu yang menempel dan lain sebagainya. Oleh karena masalah tersebut, dilakukanlah perawatan pada komponen chiller. Metode yang dilakukan yaitu dengan metode termodinamika, dimana data yang didapat dari observasi dan pengambilan data dilapangan tersebut dilakukan perhitungan dan dilakukan perbandingan. Kemudian didapatkan data aktual daya dan temperatur. Pada ruang tunggu penumpang mengalami penurunan temperatur sebesar 4oC sampai 5oC setelah perawatan, kemudian diperoleh perbandingan konsumsi daya setelah perawatan yang menurunkan konsumsi daya sebesar 104,812 kW. Kedua data tersebut sangat penting guna mendapatkan nilai COP chiller. Hasil yang diperoleh nilai COP chiller sebelum perawatan yaitu 5,56 dan 6,16 setelah perawatan. Sehingga terjadi peningkatan nilai COP sebanyak 9,8 %. Dengan demikian, chiller yang ada masih dalam keadaan baik. Kata Kunci: water chiller, COP, penyejuk udara, konsumsi daya.
