Abstract

This study aims to describe self esteem in early adult women who experienced dating violence. Respondents in this study were women the aged 20- 25 years old with an experience in dating violence, with 4 subjects as respondents. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research with non–participatory observation and in depth interviews with interview guidelines. Self esteem is confidence in our ability to think and to cope with the challenges of life, confidence in our right to be happy, the feeling of being worthy. From the interviews that the researcher did, the result shows all four subjects had four types aspect from self esteem ;Power, Significance, Virtue, and Competence. Keywords: Self esteem, Dating Violence Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran self esteem pada wanita dewasa awal yang mengalami kekerasan dalam pacaran. Responden pada penelitian ini merupakan wanita berusia 20-25 tahun yang pernah mengalami kekerasan dalam pacaran, dengan jumlah subjek 4 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode observasi non-partisipatif dan metode wawancara secara mendalam dengan pedoman wawancara. Self Esteem merupakan keyakinan seseorang akan kemampuannya untuk berpikir dan mengatasi tantangan dalam kehidupan. Keyakinan memiliki hak untuk bahagia, merasa sebagai pribadi yang berharga. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keempat subjek memiliki keempat aspek self esteem yaitu : Kekuatan, Keberartian, Kebajikan, Kompetensi. Kata Kunci : Self Esteem, Kekerasan dalam Pacaran
