Abstract

This research aim to determine the relationship between self-concept and academic dishonesty. The sample of this study are students at X vocational high school in Bekasi, consisting of classes: X, XI and XII and total sample is 301 students. There are two measurement instruments used in this research, the academic dishonesty scale based on Survey on Academic Dishonesty by McCabe, and self-concept scale based on adolescent 'Self-Concept Short Scale: A Version of PHCSCS which was adapted by Veiga and Leite. Data analysis techniques use the correlation test of Spearman’s rho with a significance value of P = 0.007 and correlation coefficient value rho = -0.156. The result of this research show there are negative relationship between self-concept and academic dishonesty of X vocational high school students in Bekasi. Keywords : self-concept, academic dishonesty Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya hubungan antara self-concept dengan academic dishonesty. Sampel untuk penelitian ini adalah 301 siswa SMK swasta X di Bekasi yang terdiri dari kelas X, XI dan XII. Ada dua instrumen pengukuran yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Academic Dishonesty Scale yang dikembangkan oleh McCabe dan terdiri dari 15 item, dan Adolescent’ Self-Concept Short Scale: A Version of PHCSCS yang diadaptasi oleh Veiga dan Leite yang terdiri dari 30 item. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji spearman’s rho. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan antara self-concept dan academic dishonesty dengan nilai signifikansi P = 0.007 dan dengan nilai koefisien korelasi rho = -0.156. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada hubungan yang negatif antara self-concept dengan academic dishonesty. Kata kunci: academic dishonesty, self-concept
