Abstract
This research was prompted by the rise of aggression on teenagers such as mass fighting among the student and caused death in Indonesian education nowadays. In this case, teenagers need to have the ability to control themselves so it can decrease aggression. This research aims to understand the relations between selfcontrol and aggression at tenth class of SMK X Jakarta. Data were collected by purposive sampling method with 194 respondents. Data analysis use pearson correlation technique. A self-control variable measuring instrument created refers to Tagney, Baumeister and Boone Theory with reliability value 0.833 and aggression measuring instrument refers to Buss and Perry Theory with reliability value 0.890. The result shows the significant value of the relation between selfcontrol and aggression on 0,000 (p < 0,01) and correlation coefficient on -0,403. It shows that there is a negative relation between Self-Control and Aggression, so it can be interpreted that the higher the self-control that is owned by the students of tenth class in SMK X Jakarta - the lower the behavior of its aggression, otherwise the low self-control are owned by the students then the higher the behavior of its aggression. Keywords: Aggressive Behavior, Self Control Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh maraknya perilaku agresi remaja seperti tawuran antar pelajar hingga mengakibatkan korban jiwa di dunia pendidikan Indonesia saat ini. Dalam hal ini, remaja memerlukan kemampuan untuk melakukan kontrol terhadap dirinya sehingga dapat mengurangi intensitas perilaku agresi remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kontrol diri dengan perilaku agresi pada siswa kelas sepuluh SMK X di Jakarta. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 194 responden. Teknik penentuan sampel dengan metode purposive sampling. Hasil analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis data pearson correlation. Alat ukur variabel kontrol diri yang dibuat mengacu pada teori Tagney, Baumeister dan Boone dengan nilai reliabilitas 0.833, sedangkan alat ukur variabel perilaku agresi mengacu pada teori Buss dan Perry dengan nilai reliabilitas 0.890. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diperoleh nilai signifikansi variabel kontrol diri dengan variabel perilaku agresi sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,01) dan nilai koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar – 0,403. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif antara Kontrol Diri dengan Perilaku Agresi, sehingga dapat diartikan bahwa semakin tinggi kontrol diri yang dimiliki siswa kelas sepuluh SMK X Jakarta maka semakin rendah perilaku agresinya, dan sebaliknya semakin rendah kontrol diri yang dimiliki siswa kelas sepuluh SMK X Jakarta maka semakin tinggi perilaku agresinya.
