Abstract
This study aims to determine the description of Coping Stress in Caregivers who have family members of patients with Alzheimer's disease. The respondents used in this study were informal caregivers who had family members suffering from Alzheimer's for more than a year. The type of research used in this study is a qualitative approach, with a sample of four caregivers. The method used in this study is the non-participatory observation method and open interview method with interview guidelines. This study explains on the description of coping stress performed by caregivers who care for family members suffering from Alzheimer's. Coping Stress is meant to how caregivers try to deal with the stress they experience as a result of Alzheimer's symptoms suffered by their family members. Stress coping is done by problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping. The results of this study indicate that caregivers who care for family members suffering from Alzheimer's approach the two coping. Keywords: coping stress, caregiver, alzheimer Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran Coping Stress pada Caregiver yang memiliki anggota keluarga penderita penyakit Alzheimer. Responden yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah seorang caregiver informal yang memiliki anggota keluarga menderita Alzheimer selama lebih dari setahun. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif, dengan jumlah sampel empat orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode observasi non-partispatif dan metode wawancara terbuka dengan pedoman wawancara. Penelitian ini menjelaskan gambaran coping stress yang dilakukan oleh caregiver yang merawat anggota keluarga menderita Alzheimer. Coping Stress yang dimaksudkan adalah bagaimana caregiver mencoba mengatasi stress yang mereka alami akibat dari gejala Alzheimer yang diderita oleh anggota keluarga mereka. coping stress dilakukan dengan cara problem focused coping dan emotional focused coping. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa caregiver yang merawat anggota keluarga menderita Alzheimer melakukan pendekatan dua coping tersebut. Kata kunci: coping stress, caregiver, alzheimer
