Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find any correlation between self-efficacy and academic burnout in the students who are both working and finishing their thesis in a Non-Governmental University in West Jakarta. The total number of participants in this research is 348 subjects, consist of 140 male and 208 females who are both working and finishing their thesis in a Non-Governmental University in West Jakarta. The method used in data collecting is the Academic Burnout Scale and Self Efficacy Scale. Generalized Self Efficacy Scale is made by Schwarzer & Jerusalem (1995), consist of 10 items. Another scale that used in this research is the Maslach Burnout Inventory made by Christina Maslach. This scale consist of 15 items. To analyze the data, Spearman's correlation was used. In the final result, we can see that there is a strong enough correlation between self-efficacy and academic burnout, in which the value of the correlation is -0.499. Keywords: Self Efficacy, Academic Burnout Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara self efficacy dengan academic burnout pada mahasiswa yang bekerja dan sedang menyelesaikan skripsi di sebuah Universitas Swasta di Jakarta Barat. Partisipan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 348 orang, yang terdiri dari 140 pria dan 208 wanita yang bekerja dan sedang menyelesaikan skripsi di sebuah Universitas Swasta di Jakarta Barat. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data yaitu dengan menggunakan skala Generalized Self Efficacy yang dibuat oleh Schwarzer & Jerusalem (1995) yang terdiri dari 10 item. Selain itu juga ada skala Maslach Burnout Inventory yang dibuat oleh Christina Maslach. Skala ini terdiri dari 15 item. Untuk analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Spearman Correlation. Hasil akhir yang didapat terlihat bahwa terdapat hubungan yang negatif yang cukup kuat antara self efficacy dan academic burnout dimana hubungan tersebut bernilai -0.499.
