Abstract

Happiness refers to subjective concepts from the perspective of the individual. A different definition about the happiness associated with the condition, needs or attainment of someone in his life. This research aims to look at the role of optimism, religious activity, and gratitude towards the happiness of Mercu Buana University students. This research is quantitative research with correlational design. Sampling techniques using the quota sampling, with the acquisition of 388 students. The results show that optimism has a role significance towards happiness. Then religious activity also has a role significance to happiness. And also gratitude found has a role significance towards happiness. Simultaneous test results indicate that optimism, religious activity, and gratitude have e role significance on happiness of Mercu Buana University students, with the Adjusted R2 is 0.327. This shows that optimism, gratitude and religious activity, affect the happiness by 32.7%. In general, students of Mercu Buana University was happy with a quite high level of optimism and gratitude, as well as a high religious activity in students. Keywords: Happiness, Optimism, Religious Activity, Gratitude Kebahagiaan mengacu pada konsep subjektif dari sudut pandang individu yang memaknainya. Pemaknaan yang berbeda mengenai kebahagiaan terkait dengan kondisi diri, kebutuhan atau pencapaian seseorang dalam hidupnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran optimisme, religious activity, dan gratitude terhadap kebahagiaan mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan quota sampling, dengan perolehan sampel berjumlah 388 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa optimisme berperan signifikan terhadap kebahagiaan. Kemudian religious activity juga berperan signifikan terhadap kebahagiaan. Dan juga gratitude ditemukan berperan secara signifikan terhadap kebahagiaan. Hasil uji simultan menunjukkan bahwa optimisme, religious activity, dan gratitude secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap kebahagiaan mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana, dengan nilai Adjusted R2 sebesar 0,327. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa optimisme, religious activity, dan gratitude memengaruhi kebahagiaan sebesar 32,7%. Secara umum mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana merasa bahagia dengan tingkat optimisme dan gratitude yang cukup tinggi, serta religious activity yang tinggi pada mahasiswa.
