Abstract

Every activity carried out by humans will produce waste, this waste on a small scale will not cause problems because nature has the ability to decompose the components contained in waste. Activated Sludge Processes require increased oxygen transfer to maintain biodegradation and nitrification processes, and therefore the concentration of dissolved oxygen (DO) in aeration tanks. In stp experiencing problems such as the influence of the long distance of the pipe between the blower and the tank, besides the effect of speed and lack of air on the blower. Based on this in this study is to analyze and find out how much pressure and friction in the pipeline, and analyze the lack of blower pressure due to the pressure loss using the CFD Method with ANSYS CFX 17.0 software. Based on the results of the simulation, obtained average pressure drop on the simulation of the seven pipe points of 34 Pa. Keywords: Active sludge, STP, Blower, CFD, Pipeline. Setiap aktivitas yang dilakukan manusia akan menghasilkan limbah, limbah ini dalam skala kecil tidak akan menimbulkan masalah karena alam memiliki kemampuan untuk menguraikan kembali komponen - komponen yang terkandung dalam limbah. Sistem Lumpur Aktif (Activated Sludge Process) memerlukan transfer oksigen yang ditingkatkan untuk mempertahankan proses biodegradasi dan nitrifikasi, dan karenanya konsentrasi oksigen terlarut (DO) dalam tangki aerasi. Dalam stp mengalami kendala seperti pengaruh jarak panjang pipa antara blower dan tangki, selain itu pengaruh kecepatan dan kekurangan udara pada blower. Berdasarkan hal tersebut pada penelitian ini adalah menganalisis dan mengetahui berapa besar tekanan dan gesekan pada alur pipa, serta menganalisis kurangnya tekanan blower akibat adanya tekanan yang hilang (precision loss) dengan menggunakan Metode CFD dengan software ANSYS CFX 17.0. Berdasarkan hasil simulasi yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh rata rata penurunan tekanan (pressure drop) pada simulasi ketujuh titik pipa tersebut sebesar 34 Pa.
