Abstract
Tempe industry is a business established in the context of developing activities in the food sector that have positive and negative impacts on the environment. Liquid wastes containing suspended or dissolved solids undergo physical, chemical and biological changes that will produce toxic substances or create a medium for germ growth. At present many small industries processing tempe do not pay attention to the processing of waste produced so that it can produce toxic substances and damage the environment. Therefore it is necessary to do technical steps to overcome this problem. The method used in this research is physical processing including sendimentation, deposition, and filtering. Whereas biological processing includes activated mud, biofiltration. From the results of testing tempe wast waste there is a Biological Oxygen Demand content of 8,294 mg / l, Chemical Oxygen Demand of 21,264 mg / l, and of 2,550 mg / l, and a ph value of 4. Therefore the wastewater treatment plant must be designed as effectively as possible so that chemical degradation can run optimally in accordance with the quality standard of holidays permitted by the Republic of Indonesia's environment minister regulation number 5 of 2014: Biological Oxygen Demand of 150 mg / l, Chemical Oxygen Demand of 300 mg / l, Total Suspended Solid of 100 mg / l and ph value of 7. wastewater treantemt plant with anaaerobic and aerobic tub systems can reduce chemical content by the filtering process using crossflow media and aerators. Wastewater treatment plant with this system can reduce the content to Biological Oxygen Demand by 5.61 mg / l, Chemical Oxygen Demand by 143.49 mg / l, Total Suspended Solid by 1.72 mg / l, and ph value to 7.5 so that it meets the government requirements regarding liquid quality standards permitted to be disposed of in the river. Keywords: Wastewater treatment plant, waste tempe, IPAL, BOD, COD Industri tempe merupakan usaha yang didirikan dalam rangka pengembangan kegiatan di bidang pangan yang mempunyai dampak positif dan negatif bagi lingkungan. Limbah cair yang mengandung padatan tersuspensi maupun terlarut mengalami perubahan fisik, kimia dan hayati yang akan menghasilkan zat beracun atau menciptakan media untuk tumbuhnya kuman. Saat ini banyak industri kecil pengolahan tempe tidak memperhatikan proses pengolahan limbah yang dihasilkan sehingga dapat menghasilkan zat beracun dan merusak lingkungan. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan langkah teknik untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Metode yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah pengolahan secara fisika diantaranya sendimentasi, pengendapan, dan penyaringan. Sedangkan pengolahan secara biologi diantaranya lumpur teraktivisi, biofiltrasi. Dari hasil pengetesan leb limbah cair tempe terdapat kandungan Biological Oxygen Demand sebesar 8.294 mg/l, Chemical Oxygen Demand sebesar 21.264 mg/l , dan sebesar 2.550 mg/l, dan nilai ph 4. Oleh karena itu wastewater treatment plant harus dirancang seefektif mungkin agar penurunan chemical dapat berjalan dengan maksimal sesuai dengan syarat baku mutu libah yang dijinkan oleh peraturan mentri lingkungan hidup republik Indonesia nomor 5 tahun 2014 ialah Biological Oxygen Demand sebesar 150 mg/l, Chemical Oxygen Demand sebesar 300 mg/l, Total Suspended Solid sebesar 100 mg/l dan nilai ph sebesar 7. wastewater treantemt plant dengan sistem bak anaaerob dan bak aerob dapat menurunkan kandungan chemical dengan proses penyaringan menggunakan media crossflow dan aerator. Wastewater treatment plant dengan sistem ini dapat menurunkan kandungan menjadi Biological Oxygen Demand sebesar 5,61 mg/l, Chemical Oxygen Demand sebesar 143,49 mg/l, Total Suspended Solid sebesar 1,72 mg/l , dan nilai ph menjadi 7,5 sehingga memenuhi syarat pemerintah tentang baku mutu libah cair yang dijinkan untuk di buang kesungai.
