Abstract
As we know now, need for mobile device users increases every year. Users always want to get access to information exchange that is very fast and able to serve data access needs without delay. Developments that have been prepared to deal with these problems are 5th generation or 5G technology. Where 5G technology aims to increase capacity, reach, connectivity, efficiency, and cost compared to the technology that is currently developing, 4G. The use of high frequency can cause the dimensions of an antenna to shrink, so that 5G technology requires an antenna that is easy to integrate. One type of antenna that is suitable to be a candidate for 5G technology, namely microstrip antenna. The method for designing the antenna is the proximity coupling method, which uses two substrates εr1 and εr2. The patch is above, the ground plane is below and the transmission line connects the resources and is between the two substrates. The purpose of using this method is to widen bandwidth. This final project has designed and implemented a Rectangular patch 4 mikrostrip antenna that works at a frequency of 29 GHz and 38 GHz. This antenna is arranged in an array which has 4 patch elements. The material used is RT Duroid 5880 with a dielectric constant of 2.2 and has a thickness of 1.575 mm. Antenna array planning has the purpose of increasing Gain value. Based on the results of the tests performed, 2x2 Array Microstrip Antenna designed at a frequency of 29 GHz has a Return Loss value of -12.5 dB, while at the 38 GHz frequency the resulting Loss Loss is -16 dB. The bandwidth generated at the frequency of 29 GHz is 4.5 GHz, while for the frequency of 38 GHz is 3.75 GHz. Keywords:Rectangular patch, Array, mikrostrip, Proximity Coupled, Bandwidth Kebutuhan pengguna perangkat mobile setiap tahunnya mengalami peningkatan. Pengguna selalu menginginkan untuk mendapatkan akses pertukaran informasi yang sangat cepat dan mampu melayani kebutuhan akses data tanpa adanya delay. Perkembangan yang telah disiapkan untuk menghadapi permasalahan tersebut adalah teknologi generasi ke 5 atau 5G. Dimana teknologi 5G bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas, jangkauan, konektivitas, efisiensi, dan biaya dibandingkan teknologi yang berkembang pada saat ini yaitu 4G. Penggunaan frekuensi tinggi dapat menyebabkan dimensi suatu antena mengecil, sehingga teknologi 5G membutuhkan antena yang mudah untuk diintegrasikan. Salah satu jenis antena yang cocok untuk menjadi kandidat teknologi 5G, yaitu antena mikrostrip.
