Abstract

ABSTRAK Kebutuhan bahan bakar fosil terus meningkat. Penggunaan BBM di sektor transportasi paling besar mencapai 65%, pembangkit listrik 16%, industri 10%, rumah tangga 2%, komersial 1%, dan sektor lainnya 6%, dari total kebutuhan BBM pada tahun 2011 yang mencapai 70,89 juta KL. Meningkat 4,04% dari tahun 2010. Seiring dengan mahalnya harga BMM kini dipasaran banyak dipasarkan alat penghemat bahan bakar dengan berbagai metode, berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan alat penghemat bahan bakar mampu mengurangi konsumsi bahan bakar. Stabilisator tegangan elektronik (Voltage stabilizer) adalah salah satu metode penghemat bahan bakar yang bebas perawatan dan praktis dan dinilai produsen mampu menghemat bahan bakar lebih dari 25%. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh stabilisator elektronik terhadap konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik, torsi dan daya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara perbandingan sebelum dan setelah pemasangan stabilisator tegangan elektronik. Variable putaran mesin 1500 rpm, hingga 6000 rpm pada kelipatan 500 rpm pada mesin 1200 cc mengunakan bahan bakar Pertalite Pertamina (ron 90). Dari penelitaian ini, penggunaan stabilisator tegangan elektronik pada mesin mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap konsumsi bahan bakar dimana nilai Specific fuel consumption (Sfc) tertinggi pada putaran 3500 rpm dengan nilai sebesar 5,1%. Stabilisator tegangan elektronik tidak dapat meningkatkan unjuk kerja mesin (torsi dan daya), Karena volatse listrik pada pemakaian stabilisator lebih rendah dari voltase kelistrikan tanpa stabilisator. Voltage stabilizer is a one of method fuel saver device maintenance free and pactical. the device is rated producers able to save fuel more than 25%. Therefore, this study intends to know the effect of voltage stabilizers on specific fuel consumption, torque and power on machine. The Research was conducted by comparison before and after the installation of voltage stabilizers. Variable engine speed 1500 rpm, up to 6000 rpm at multiples of 500 rpm on 1200 cc engine using fuel is Pertalite (ron 90). From this research, The voltage stabilizer for the engine has a positive effect fo fuel consumption the specific fuel consumption (Sfc) value is highest at 3500 rpm with a value of 5.1%. Voltage stabilizer can't increase the engine performance (torque and power), Because the electrical voltage in the use of stabilizers is lower than the electrical voltage without stabilizers.
