Abstract

Computer networks are not something new at this time. Almost every business has a computer network to facilitate the flow of information in the business. Today many companies have used computer networks to support the company's performance. But there are still many companies that already use computer networks, but when measuring how well a computer network uses the Quality of Service (QoS) method, the results are not good. One of them is the company PT Lion Mentari Airlines in Hang Nadim Airport Batam, and from the measurement results with bandwidth (BW) which has been determined that the current network has fulltraffic, resulting in packet loss, because many requests are not served. In addition, physical disturbances such as fiber optic cables are interrupted, causing service to be a long down time. This happens because computer networks at the location are only single links. This is what underlies the submission of the Final Project entitled "Optimizing the performance of computer networks bus topology using the development of hot standby route protocol (HSRP) and load sharing (case study: PT Lion Mentari Airlines)" The problems found in the company PT Lion Mentari Airlines are computer networks with only a single link, so that full-service traffic is easy which results in packet loss, and also when fiber optic cables are interrupted, the service becomes a long down time, with these problems , in the Final Project this time the performance of the bus scientific computer network was optimized using the development of hot standby router protocol (HSRP) and load sharing at PT Lion Mentari Airlines at Hang Nadim Airport, Batam. In this Final Project, the optimization of computer network performance has been developed. This computer network is made to reduce full-traffic occurrence which results in packet loss, and the absence of down time when physical disturbances such as fiber optic cables are interrupted by developing using the hot standby route protocol (HSRP) and load sharing methods so that the company's operational activities run optimally . Keywords: Computer Network, Quality of Service, HSRP, Load Sharing Jaringan komputer bukan sesuatu yang baru pada masa ini. Hampir di setiap usaha terdapat jaringan komputer untuk memperlancar arus informasi di dalam usaha tersebut. Saat ini banyak perusahaan yang sudah memanfaatkan jaringan komputer untuk dapat menunjang kinerja perusahaan. Namun masih banyak perusahaan yang sudah menggunakan jaringan komputer tapi ketika dilakukan pengukuran tentang seberapa baik jaringan komputer dengan menggunakan metode Quality of Service (QoS) hasilnya kurang baik. Salah satunya adalah perusahaan PT Lion Mentari Airlines di Bandara Hang Nadim Batam, dan dari hasil pengukuran tersebut dengan bandwidth (BW) yang sudah di tetapkan bahwa jaringan saat ini terdapat traffic-full sehingga mengakibatkan packet loss, karena banyak request yang tidak terlayani. Selain itu juga terjadi gangguan fisik seperti kabel fiber optik terputus, maka menyebabkan layanan menjadi down time yang cukup lama. Hal itu terjadi karena jaringan komputer di lokasi hanya single link. Hal ini lah yang mendasari diajukannya Tugas Akhir yang berjudul “optimasi kinerja jaringan komputer topologi bus menggunakan pengembangan hot standby route protocol (HSRP) dan load sharing (studi kasus : PT Lion Mentari Airlines)” Permasalahan yang terdapat pada perusahaan PT Lion Mentari Airlines adalah jaringan komputer hanya single link, sehingga layanan mudah terjadi traffic-full yang mengakibatkan packet loss, dan juga ketika terjadi kabel fiber optik terputus maka mengakibatkan layanan menjadi down time yang cukup lama, dengan adanya permasalahan tersebut, pada Tugas Akhir kali ini dilakukan optimasi kinerja jaringan komputer toplogi bus menggunakan pengembangan hot standby router protocol (HSRP) dan load sharing pada PT Lion Mentari Airlines di Bandara Hang Nadim Batam. Pada Tugas Akhir ini menghasilkan optimasi kinerja jaringan komputer yang sudah dikembangkan. Jaringan komputer ini dibuat untuk mengurangi terjadi traffic-full yang mengakibatkan packet loss, dan tidak adanya down time ketika terjadi gangguan fisik seperti kabel fiber optik terputus dengan mengembangkan menggunakan metode hot standby route protocol (HSRP) dan load sharing agar kegiatan operasional perusahaan berjalan dengan optimal.
