Abstract
The news of government suspended Tik Tok application temporarilly attracting public attentions because there are so many reports regarding negative contents in this application. This study aimed to analyze the news of the suspending of Tik – Tok application temporarily in July 2018 period on online media Kompas.com and Republika.co.id. in addition, this research intended to find out how Kompas.com and Republika.co.id frame the news relating the Tik Tok application temporarily. This research wanted to see how Kompas.com and Republika.co.id select the issues and emphasize the news aspect framed by these two medias. The researcher used Robert N Entman framing analysis method. These medias have their own ways to frame the news delivered to the public. The results of the study showed that Kompas.com highlighted the reasons behind this blocking, the effects of the blocking, and the suggestions and the solution from the government especially The Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia in solving the suspending of Tik- Tok application temporarily. Meanwhile, Republika.co.id selected issues and emphasized this suspending based on the appreciation and supporting from several Moslem organizations toward government decision in temporary suspending. Republika.co.id also showed that Tik-Tok is more popular than Asian Games in social media. Moreover, a lot of social medias have bad contents that are missed from government’s attentions Keywords: Robert N Entman Framing, Online Media Pemberitaan pemblokiran sementara aplikasi Tik Tok sempat menyita perhatian masyarakat dikarenakan banyaknya laporan yang menyebutkan bahwa muncul konten negatif dalam aplikasi ini. Penelitian ini menganalisa pemberitaan pemblokiran sementara aplikasi Tik Tok periode juli 2018 pada media online Kompas.com dan Republika.co.id dengan menggunakan metode analisis framing Robert N Entman Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana Kompas.com dan Republika.co.id membingkai pemberitaan tentang aplikasi Tik Tok. Bagaimana seleksi isu dan penonjolan aspek yang dibingkai oleh kedua media tersebut. Setiap media memiliki cara sendiri untuk mengemas berita yang akan mereka sajikan Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Kompas.com menonjolkan aspek penyebab mengapa aplikasi ini diblokir, dampak apa yang terjadi dari peristiwa pemblokiran, hingga himbauan dan jalan keluar atau solusi yang diambil Menkominfo dalam menyelesaikan masalah pemblokiran sementara aplikasi Tik Tok. Berbeda dengan Republika yang menseleksi isu dan menonjolkan aspek mengenai apresiasi serta dukungan dari beberapa ormas Islam terhadap keputusan pemerintah dalam pemblokiran sementara aplikasi Tik Tok. Republika juga mengupas realitas bahwa di media sosial, Tik Tok lebih popular ketimbang Asian Games. Selain itu, ditemukannya fakta lain bahwa sebenarnya masih banyak media sosial yang terdapat konten negatif namun luput dari perhatian pemerintah. Kata Kunci :Framing Robert N Entman, Media Online
