Abstract

The existence of rejection and discrimination becomes a burden that is difficult to live with. However, through the evolution of technology and the emergence of applications for gay community, it makes them free to express and show their identity to other users, either openly or in a limited manner, but still that the existence of a gay application, one of which is grindr, greatly helps gay sex in their self-disclosure. Through this literature review, I use the theory withc is used in Communication Theory such as, interpersonal communication, interpersonal relationships, self-disclosure, the Johari window, and in this study also sees a different interpretation of words because of the relationship and part of interpersonal communication. This study uses a constructivist paradigm. The method used in this research is the phenomenological research method of Alferd Schutz, witch has a qualitative approach and descriptive research type. The subjects in this research are active users of the Grindr application and have been using the Grindr application for at least one year, also i used to collect the data in this study through a depth interviews and literature study and studying references related to the phenomena discussed. The result of this research is that there is a process of self-disclosure of gay sexual people in order to gain recognition from the gay sexual community and to give freedom to the desire to communicate freely and i hope there is any acceptance and no rejection from the majority. Keywords: Phenomenology, Self Disclosure, Application, Grindr, Alferd Schutz, Gay Sexual. Adanya penolakan dan diskriminatif menjadi teros mental yang sulit untuk dirasakan. Namun dengan perkembangan teknologi dan munculnya aplikasi bagi kaum gay sekesual menjadikan mereka bebas berekspresi dan menunjukan identitas mereka terhadap pengguna lain, baik secara terang-terangan ataupun terbatas, namun tetap saja bahwa dengan adanya aplikasi gay dimana salah satunya ialah grindr, sangat membantu kaum gay seksual dalam pengungkapan diri mereka. Dalam tinjauan pustaka penelitian ini mengutip teori Komunikasi, Komunikasi antar pribadi, hubungan interpersonal, pengungkapan diri, Johari window, dan didalam penelitian ini juga melihat pergeseran makna karena danya kaitan dan bagian dari komunikasi antar pribadi. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian fenomenologi dari Alferd Schutz, dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan tipe penelitian desktriptif. Subjek penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah pengguna aktif aplikasi Grindr dan telah menggunkan aplikasi grindr minimal satu tahun. Pengunpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui wawancara mendalam dan studi keperpustakaan serta mempelajari refrensi yang berkaitan dengan fenomena yang dibahas. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya proses pengungkapan diri kaum gay seksual guna mendapatkan pengakuan dari komunitas gay seksual dan ingin memberikan kebebasan akan keinginan berkomunikasi yang bebas. Adanya penerimaan dan tidak adanya penolakan dari mayoritas. Kata Kunci : Fenomenologi, Self Disclosure, Aplikasi, Grindr, Alferd schutz, Gay Seksual.
