Abstract

The most important component in refrigeration machines is refrigerants. Refrigerants absorb heat from one location and throw it to another location through an evaporation and condensation mechanism. This study aims to raise an experiment on the development of refrigeration machines using R134a refrigerant observed compressor performance, evaporator performance, COP and it is hoped that this study can show the testing installation as a learning medium in applying the working principle of refrigeration machines. The research method used was experimental on bottled water by collecting data for pressure and temperature of R-134 which was measured on the in and out of the compressor during the specified time interval. The use of different refrigerants in a refrigeration machine shows that R-134 refrigerant is better than R-12. This can be seen after 20 minutes for R-134, condenser temperature 73 ℃ , evaporator temperature 23 ℃ , COP 17.82 kj / kg. Keywords: refrigerant, evaporation, condensation, COP Komponen terpenting dalam mesin refrigerasi adalah refrigeran.Refrigeran menyerap panas dari satu lokasi dan membuangnya ke lokasi yang lain melalui mekanisme evaporasi dan kondensasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengangkat suatu percobaan pengembangan mesin refrigerasi dengan menggunakan refrigeran R134a diamati kinerja kompresor, kinerja evaporator, COP dan diharapkan penelitian ini dapat memperlihatkan instalasi pengujian sebagai media pembelajaran dalam menerapkan prinsip kerja mesin refrigerasi. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah eksperimental pada air dalam botol dengan melakukan pengambilan data untuk tekanan dan temperatur R-134 yang diukur pada saluran masuk dan keluar kompresor selama selang waktu yang telah di tentukan. Penggunaan refrigeran yang berbeda pada suatu mesin refrigerasi menunjukkan bahwa refrigeran R-134 lebih baik dibanding R12. Hal ini dapat dilihat setelah 20 menit untuk R-134, temperature kondensor73℃, temperatur evaporator 23℃, COP 17,82kj/kg. Kata kunci: refrigeran, evaporasi, kondensasi, COP
