Abstract

Income smoothing is one of the ways used by management to reduce fluctuations in earnings obtained in order to profit in accordance with the desired target. The aims of this research was to prove the influence of size company, ROA, financial leverage toward the income smoothing on companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The population of this institution is in all mining sector companies. This study used a purposive sampling method and obtained a total sample of 64 companies from 2014-2017. SPSS 20 as an analytical tool in this study. The research data used is secondary data, namely financial statements that publish on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (www.idx.co.id) and the company's official website. Data analysis techniques that are logistics analysis. The results of the analysis show that the variables that have an influence on earnings are firm size variables, while profitability and financial leverage have no effect on earnings earnings. Keywords : income smoothing, firm size, profitability, and financial leverage. Perataan laba merupakan salah satu cara yang digunakan manajemen untuk mengurangi fluktuasi laba yang diperoleh agar laba sesuai dengan target yang diinginkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh ukuran perusahaan, ROA, dan financial leverage terhadap praktik perataan laba pada perusahaan pertambangan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Populasi dari penelitian ini berfokus pada semua perusahaan sektor pertambangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling dan didapatkan ukuran sampel sebanyak 64 perusahaan pengamatan dari tahun 20142017. SPSS 20 digunakan sebagai alat analisis dalam penelitian ini. Data penelitian yang digunakan adalah data sekunder yaitu laporan keuangan yang publish di Bursa Efek Indonesia (www.idx.co.id) dan website resmi perusahaan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis logistik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa variabel yang mempunyai pengaruh terhadap perataan laba adalah variabel ukuran perusahaan, sedangkan profitabilitas dan financial leverage tidak berpengaruh terhadap perataa laba. Kata kunci : perataan laba, ukuran perusahaan, profitabilitas, dan financial leverage
