Abstract

Along with the development of increasingly complex science and technology, it is able to bring considerable changes to the progress and human needs for information that is always up to date. Basically this is caused by mobility or activities that require the exchange of information quickly, efficiently and economically. With the presence of cellular networks such as GSM (Global System for Mobile) networks, human needs for communication will be smooth, this is because with the GSM network as mobile communication, everyone can communicate with anyone and anywhere without any constraints on time or distance . With the existence of this technology has a great impact on the whole community in communicating. But the problem that arises in the future is the cost we have to pay for the communication services used. To overcome this, an alternative convenience in the use of communication services is not limited to costs. With the development of IP (Internet Protocol) based communication technology called VoIP where voice services are channeled through the internet in real time without being affected by distance or time so that it is more dynamic when used. With the concept of combining services found on the internet and telephone networks so as to be able to service voice calls Key Words: Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Virtual Private Server (VPS), Ubuntu 16.06 LTS, Asterisk, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) Seiring dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang semakin komplek, hal ini mampu membawa perubahan yang cukup besar untuk kemajuan dan kebutuhan manusia akan informasi yang selalu up to date. Pada dasarnya hal ini disebabkan oleh mobilitas ataupun kegiatan yang mengharuskan terjadinya pertukaran informasi dengan cepat, efisien dan hemat. Dengan adanya jaringan seluler seperti jaringan GSM (Global System for Mobile) maka kebutuhan manusia akan komunikasi menjadi lancar, hal ini dikarenakan dengan adanya jaringan GSM sebagai komunikasi bergerak, semua orang dapat melakukan komunikasi dengan siapa saja dan dimana saja tanpa adanya kendala terhadap waktu maupun jarak. Dengan adanya teknologi ini memberikan dampak yang besar kepada seluruh masyarakat dalam berkomunikasi. Tetapi Permasalahan yang muncul dikemudian hari adalah biaya yang harus kita bayarakan terhadap layanan komunikasi yang digunakan. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut diperlukan suatu alternative kemudahan dalam pemanfaatan layanan komunikasi yang tidak terbatas oleh biaya. Dengan berkembangannya teknologi komunikasi berbasis IP (Internet Protocol) yang bernama VoIP dimana layanan suara disalurkan melalui jaringan internet secara real time tanpa terpengaruh dengan jarak maupun waktu sehingga lebih dinamis pada saat digunakan.
