Abstract

There are Indonesian twenties who do not like to read. Yet from reading, we can add insight and knowledge in depth. In addition, usually in the twenties, a person is easier to increase self-capacity, including scholarship and self-motivation. The basis for the selection of prose "Hujan Matahari" content of this book is considered relevant to the life of the twenties as well as representing the problems that twenties face. In the process, content visualization is not limited to illustrating the script into the visuals. However, there are additional values in the visualization of the manuscript. This happens because of the design of visualization through a new interpretation process undertaken by the designer. So of the illustration presented is the visualization of the interpretation done by the designer. The illustration is not merely a companion of writing but enriches the meaning of writing. As a book that has a target audience of the twenties, design elements are also the designed as close as possible to twenties. With the style of illustration doodles, soft colors and the selection of handwriting typeface that gives the impression of dynamic, flexible and not rigid and make the mind relaxed so that information is expected to be accepted more easily by the brain. Keywords: visualization, interest of reading, teenagers Terdapat remaja Indonesia yang tidak suka membaca. Padahal dari membaca kita dapat menambah wawasan dan ilmu pengetahuan secara mendalam. Di samping itu, biasanya pada masa remaja seseorang lebih mudah untuk meningkatkan kapasitas diri, termasuk tentang keilmuan dan motivasi diri. Dasar pemilihan konten kumpulan prosa “Hujan Matahari” adalah buku ini dinilai relevan dengan kehidupan remaja serta mewakilkan permasalahan-permasalahan yang remaja hadapi. Dalam prosesnya, visualisasi konten tidak hanya sebatas mengilustrasikan naskah ke dalam visual. Akan tetapi terdapat nilai-nilai tambahan pada visualisasi naskah tersebut. Hal ini terjadi karena perancangan visualisasi melalui proses interpretasi baru yang dilakukan oleh perancang. Sehingga ilustrasi yang disajikan adalah visualisasi dari interpretasi yang dilakukan oleh perancang. Ilustrasi yang ada bukanlah sekedar pendamping tulisan melainkan memperkaya makna tulisan. Sebagai buku yang mempunyai target pembaca remaja, elemen desain juga dirancang sedekat mungkin dengan remaja. Dengan gaya ilustrasi doodles, warnawarna soft serta pemilihan typeface handwriting yang menimbulkan kesan dinamis, fleksibel dan tidak kaku serta membuat pikiran rileks sehingga diharapkan informasi dapat diterima lebih mudah oleh otak.
