Abstract

In its development at this time, users use the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) network which is a development of LAN technology, because of its ease in terms of mobility and flexibility. In WLAN technology, users can mobility and are always connected to the internet as long as they are within the WLAN signal range. WLAN has several standards, including IEEE 802.11 b / g / a, which has a different data rate and working frequency. In fact, not all employees of a company are always in the office, especially during working hours. Not infrequently, their level of mobility is quite high, especially if their presence is more focused on relationships with customers, meeting business partners, or other activities related to the company's business. Therefore, their mobility is not seen as a problem. With the increasing need for wireless LAN in the enterprise area, it is needed a good system performance, to support productivity and mobility. Therefore it is needed Analysis of WLAN 802.11 b / g / a Network Performance To Support Multimedia Services Using OPNET MODELER 14.5 in PT Alita Praya Mitra, the results will be analyzed to find out how the Wireless LAN performance in PT Alita Praya Mitra complies with QOS standards. Success parameters measured include delay, jitter, throughput and packet loss. Based on the test results, all the parameters that the 802.11a standard WLAN performs better than the 802.11g and 802.11a standards. For example, throughput parameters on 802.11a WLAN of 15.369 Mbps. Compared with 801.11 b and g standards of 2.204 Mbps & 5.872 Mbps. Keywords: WLAN 802.11 b / g / a / n / ac, OPNET Modeler 14.5, QoS standard Dalam perkembangannya saat ini, user lebih banyak menggunakan jaringan Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) yang merupakan pengembangan dari teknologi LAN, karena kemudahannya dalam hal mobilitas dan fleksibilitas. Pada teknologi WLAN, user dapat melakukan mobilitas dan selalu terhubung ke internet selama masih berada dalam jangkauan sinyal WLAN. WLAN memiliki beberapa standarisasi, diantaranya IEEE 802.11 b/g/a, yang memiliki data rate dan frekuensi kerja yang berbeda. Pada kenyataannya, tidak semua karyawan suatu perusahaan senantiasa berada di kantor, terutama pada jam-jam kerja. Tak jarang, tingkat mobilitas mereka cukup tinggi, terutama apabila keberadaan mereka yang lebih tertuju pada hubungan dengan para pelanggan, bertemu dengan mitra bisnis, atau kegiatan lain yang terkait dengan bisnis perusahaan. Karenanya, mobilitas mereka justru bukan dilihat sebagai masalah. Dengan meningkatnya kebutuhan akan wireless LAN diarea enterprise maka sangat dibutuhkan suatu performansi system yang baik, guna menunjang produktivitas dan mobilitasnya. Maka dari itu dibutuhkan Analisa Performansi Jaringan WLAN 802.11 b/g/a Untuk Mendukung Layanan Multimedia Menggunakan OPNET MODELER 14.5 di PT Alita Praya Mitra yang kemudian hasilnya akan dianalisa untuk mengetahui bagaimana performansi Wireless LAN di PT Alita Praya Mitra sesuai dengan standar QOS. Parameter keberhasilan yang diukur antara lain delay, jitter, throughput dan packet loss. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, semua parameter bahwa WLAN standar 802.11a memiliki performa lebih baik dibanding standar 802.11g dan 802.11a. contohnya pada parameter throughput pada WLAN 802.11a sebesar 15.369 Mbps.. Dibandingkan dengan standar 801.11 b dan g sebesar 2.204 Mbps & 5.872 Mbps. Kata Kunci: WLAN 802.11 b/g/a/n/ac, OPNET Modeler 14.5, standard QoS
