Abstract
In the mixing process, the speed of rotation is very influential on the process of particle distribution and the duration of the mixing process. The writing of this final project aims to analyze the distribution of particles that have been mixed and analyze the influence between time and rotation speed in the distribution of particles. In this research method using test media in the form of coffee powder and agar - agar which is heated at a fixed temperature of 65 ˚C. This mixing process uses a centrifugal mixer without paddler with rotation variations of 500 rpm, 750 rpm and 1000 rpm. In the test results it was found that the greater the rotation rate of the mixer, the better the distribution of the material and the shorter the time required for testing. At 500 rpm the average time needed is 6.02 minutes, at 750 rpm the average time needed is 4.18 minutes, and at 1000 rpm the average time needed is 3.03 minutes. This shows that the rotation speed has an effect on the mixing process and the duration of mixing. Keywords: centrifugal mixer without paddler, mixing process, rotation speed Pada proses pencampuran, kecepatan putaran sangat berpengaruh terhadap proses pendistribusian partikel dan durasi dari proses pencampuran tersebut.Penulisan tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis distribusi partikel yang telah tercampur dan menganalisis pengaruh antarawaktu dengan kecepatan putaran dalam penyebaraan partikel/bahan. Pada metode penelitian ini menggunakan media uji berupa bubuk kopi dan agar – agar yang dipanaskan dengan suhu tetap 65 ˚C. Proses pencampuran ini menggunakan alat mixer sentrifugal tanpa paddler dengan variasi putaran sebesar 500 rpm, 750 rpm dan 1000 rpm. Pada hasil pengujian didapat bahwa semakin besar laju putaran alat mixer maka pendistribusian parikel semakin bagus dan waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk pengujian relatif semakin singkat. Pada putaran 500 rpm rata – rata waktu yang dibutuhkan 6,02 menit, pada putaran 750 rpm rata – rata waktu yang dibutuhkan 4,18 menit, dan pada putaran 1000 rpm rata – rata waktu yang dibutuhkan adalah 3,03 menit. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa laju kecepatan putaran berpengaruh terhadap proses pencampuran dan durasi pencampuran. Kata kunci: mixer sentrifugal tanpa paddler, proses pencampuran, kecepatan putaran.
